How to unlock the Short Controlled Bursts achievement in State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition - Definitive Guide

To get the Short Controlled Bursts achievement in State of Decay 2 do the following:

You max out skills by putting them to use. Shoot enough with a character and they'll eventually max out the first-tier shooting skill and you'll be able to choose a specialization on top of your previous bonuses.

Access that menu by pressing down on the D-Pad, then LB to look at your skills. Pick one of the two seemingly randomized specialization skills and the achievement is yours.

Edit: As commenters have pointed out below, this achievement may only pop if the skill you're upgrading belongs to your active character, so be sure to have that character in use at the time of your skill acquisition.

+1 to what Puma said. When I did the spec from the community page, it didn't work. I had to be controlling the character and do it from the D-pad.

I don't know if this was a glitch, but I some how unlocked it without picking a specialization on a character. I used a skill book to give a character a new skill and the achievement unlocked. I didn't see if the character had the shooting skill already maxed or even if they had the shooting skill and the only other character that was even remotely close being at max level was the soldier from the tutorial

So, I don't know if this is true or not as I have only noticed it with 2 characters so far, but when I selected a specialization for a community member from my community page, it didn't count. Then, when I pulled another character out and took control of them and selected it, it did count.

Just to be safe, may want to make sure you're controlling the character first.
