How to unlock the Speedy Delivery achievement in State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition - Definitive Guide

There is a method for completing all four legacy goals in a single community rather than restarting your community after each legacy (you know, as the game was intended). It will still take the time to find all four hero types (Sheriff, Builder, Warlord and Trader) but you will not have to destroy all the plague hearts or rebuild your community from scratch each time.

Note: this method WILL make grinding out the 10,000 zombie kill achievement longer as you are not spending the time needed on a new community and in theory not spending the time mowing down zombies to get your tally up

Please note, I have tried this method and it does work. Please comment below if you run into any issues. Cloud saving IS required for this method to work and each step detailed below is necessary.

Method

- Destroy all plague hearts in your community and begin the legacy goal quest for your chosen leader and continue to the final mission.
- Upon reaching the final mission (figuratively and literally, you will need to reach the final mission location) you will get a pop up which states your community will permanently end when you complete this mission ... Select "Not Yet" and exit to the main menu to force an autosave.
- Continue your game from the main menu and trigger the final mission (this usually takes 5/10 minutes of waiting around in game to cause the trigger).
- Arrive at the final goal and this time select "Yes" and complete the final mission.
- Wait for the legacy goal achievement to pop (mine popped on the load screen after the mission) then press cn_guide then cn_start on State of Decay 2 game in your game tile, then select "Manage game & add-ons"
- Scroll down to "Saved data" and navigate to your profile name and select it.
- A window will appear stating you want to delete your save data for State of Decay 2. You want to Select the option of "Delete from console" only.
- Upon selecting this option the game will close. Start the game back up and you will be able to continue your community just before you started the final mission, with the corresponding achievement recorded.
- You will need to exile your current leader and promote a different hero to leader and this will unlock a new set of legacy missions for you to complete

You can follow this method to achieve all four legacy goals without replaying a community from the beginning. There is still a lot of hard work involved but it is much easier than starting from scratch. Cheers.

edit: If you are not familiar with the save system on the X1 I would suggest doing a "dummy run" of this method in game before the final mission. The deleting of your local save data must be done quickly once the achievement unlocks for you to be able to replay your community.

FYI: I got this to work even after downloading Patch 1.2, so it's still viable.

Thank you StringBean. I was about to ask.
I'm in the credits and no achievement popped yet.
Still no achievement.
Saw the speech my trader gave atop a boulder. No achievement.
Went through all the credits. No achievement.
Forced to choose 3 survivors to carry over. No achievement.
Started a new community. No achievement.
But i got the "Next generation" achievement.
So what's wrong here?

This is my 1st campaign completion. This achievement description suggests i must do another play through having chosen the Trader's Legacy from the start. Not completing the campaign with a leader that is a trader.

Note i did this after the big 20GB patch.

UPDATE: "Speedy Delivery" achievement just popped about 10 minutes after I had started a new community.

So bad news for me. Let my experience aid the rest of you.
DO NOT START A NEW COMMUNITY. Wait for the achievement to unlock. Give it at least 15minutes.

I even took my time and waited and waited, but not long enough.
Only bright spot is that I have something to do while grinding for 10,000 zombie kills.

Another UPDATE:

On my 2nd attempt, I finished the Sheriff storyline and defeated Lights, leader of the killers. My screen faded to black and a load screen began, and BAM, achievement unlocked.
However, just seconds after it unlocked I saw the save icon appear in the top right corner as I was quitting out to the dashboard.
When I reloaded, the game prompted me to start a new community with legacy choice.
So it seems the new 20GB update has referenced this shortcut and no longer works.
Maybe you can quit out quickly immediately after your achievement unlocks, if it unlocks quickly.
But i concur, this method is not reliable.

Did you follow the method in quitting to the main menu for force the hard save before the last legacy quest? It is important.

You dont quit the game either. As this forces a save. You are suspending the game and deleting the local save. It is important also.

I was able to get this to work for the builder legacy AFTER the 20 GB update.

Just did my first playthrough with the trader although I had warlord set to be leader as well, as soon as achievement popped up, did as solution suggested by deleting the save loaded the game back up the ammo I had used in the final mission was gone but looks like I can change my leader so will build up supplies before I change leader and carry on. Plus from me.

1000/1000G for "E vee dub" on Sun, Jun 10th 2018.

I played through 4 full campaigns to get all of the different leader achievements and then I started a 5th campaign until I finished the 10,000 kills. Even if you decide to skip the other leaders by doing the quick method above, you still have to play a long time to get the 10,000 kills if you want to complete all the achievements in this game.

(And YES, i properly quit the game. I did not exit to Main Menu. I dashboarded out. Still didn't work.)

So E vee dub. To clarify. You could not get the method to work, so it was unreliable, but many others could. You completed 4 full campaigns and felt the need to post this. You also reiterated the point about coming up short on the 10,000 kills needed which was already mentioned in the opening thread. Anything else constructive to add ??

I did my first run normally then I tried this method. It did work but now i have a new leader it doesn't give me any legacy missions to do apart from tell my friends about killing all plague hearts then that's it no more legacy missions and it's stuck. Also I went to start a newe game and it only gives me option of having one legacy buff not 2 like it should do. What's going on ? Please help me.

This worked for me! Be sure to exit to the main menu before starting the final mission, then immediately pause the game and delete the local save data! Also, I could not exhile my leader, I simply ran them into a horde or zombies and let them die. As soon As they die, you can elect your new leader.

The other way of doing this would be to play offline after you save. This would ensure you don't auto save. After you complete the game, simply delete the save. When you go back online, the achievement will eventually unlock and then you can restart the game, download your save and be off. LIke i said, this just makes this solution more reliable.

I have not tested that method, part of me is thinking they are achievements that you need to be online for them to pop. Have you done this method and Can you confirm that it works? I agree, it would be easier and neater.

The achievement can be done offline. It pops once you go online. Playing offline means you don't have to worry about the sync.

You no longer need to exile your current leader just demote them when you load back in then pick the new leader type.

If you're struggling with the final part of this playing as a Trader (the Trade Summit after the zombies turn up), try taking a grenade launcher to deal with the Juggernaut. It was easier to deal with him from a distance with grenades, while he was outside the building.

If you're playing solo and get overwhelmed by the zombies at this point and the Summit fails, you can quickly soft-quit to xbox dashboard then close the game and restart it. You will survive and be outside just before the summit begins, and you can try the final part again. (It took me 3 attempts, and a lot of shouting and panicking. Lol.)

Seriously, I think...using your solution, you can kill off 3 more achievements in the same playthrough....crap, actually 3 more cheevos!!

Ok, let me explain, you get cheevos for each leader type becoming a leader plus another for building their special building.....

NOW, after destroying all Hearts, you start the legacy mission, now, lets say you want to end with a trader, and you have another in your enclave and you really don't care about your other survivors......

Assuming you have a mid tier base with 2 large outdoor slots.....kill off your trader, make a warlord/sheriff/ builder your next leader, cheevo pops, tear down the leader's building, build the new leader's special facility, cheevo pops, kill the new leader off, next leader type, build their special facility......you get the picture

Hello Everyone!

First i will write the solution for this achievement in english, then in portuguese.

After you promote a character to leader, the main mission of the game will change to destroy all plague hearts in your territory.

After its done, you will start specific missions to left a legacy, according to the kind of leader you have chosen.

So: Choose your leader --> Destroy all plague hearts --> Finish your legacy missions

Before the final mission of your legacy the game will show you a message, as when its done you cannot return to your community.

with minor spoilers, the trader legacy consists of uniting communities to trade among themselves. It ends with a reunion where you must protect the clans representatives for a specific amount of time.

Hope it can be of any help!

Cheers!

I experienced a bug. During the game I had met 4 other groups which i made allies with. During the mission to speak to all of them, one of them became hostile and I killed them all. I still had 3. When the final mission came, I met to have the summit, but the attacking group always seemed to be split, and killing the few at the meet up wasnt enough. And when I went to follow the others, the mission would fail.

To solve this, and perhaps to solve other issues for people would be to locate survivors. I did this, went and met the new survivors, and once again my final mission came up and I was able to complete the legacy with the trader. I had failed 3 times prior.

I will also note that locating a survivor was also what prompted my final mission for my sherrif as well.

All said, there are very specific things that need to be completed before you can start AND finish your mission.

I started the last mission for trader, the mission is divided in step. I completed a few step and they talked about a reunion, but this damn mission of reunion doesn’t start. Leaving the game or changing the character reset the mission, I have to do all the step till the talk about this reunion. I try 3 times already, the final step of the mission doesn’t start. Any suggestion?

The game is full of bugs. For two of my friends, the final mission is not appearing, or the message to destroy the plague hearts keep showing after all of them are destroyed. There is one suggestion that worked for them... Kill the leader and elect a new one. They changed the leader kind as well. If you need the trader leader achievement (as it seems like), you can change the leader to any other kind, then to trader again... Keep in mind that you may have to do the trader leader missions again.

DIFFERENT SAVE GLITCH!

Hey Guys,

Working from Wetwork M solution using cloud saves. I may have found a safer way of doing it since I saw some people were unsuccessful in using his method, I tried it a different way.

Scroll down to the "CLOUD SAVE TRICK" section if that's all you're looking for, below is a more detailed guide for anyone who maybe starting the game from scratch.

Right, so for this achievement, you need to rank up a survivor to the rank of hero and promote them to the leader,
map. This legit takes 4 playthroughs unless you use the below glitch.

First, you want to run through the tutorial and select the area you want to leave for, I did mine in Drucker County, but you can do it in any map really. I chose the Mexican brother/sister duo, and their leadership roles were Sheriff and Trader. I can't confirm if roles are randomly chosen at the start of the game, or if they are predetermined. (Would be great if someone in the comments could confirm) You also have a doctor join you from the tutorial, she was a builder for me. So there I had 3/4 of the leader types I needed. To check leader types, press down on the D-pad and click LB, this should show you their skills and the second box down should be "community standing, at the bottom, it should say "Leadership: X" You can also check their rank from here.

Once on your chosen map, go set up your base and start looting the local area, just keep your community stable, you don't have to spoil them, just keep them ticking over. Try to find a lot of fuel, ammo and "parts" since you'll need a load of it.

Once you've settled, advance the storyline to where you're shown your first plague heart, after that, you should be able to find more.

Now you want to balance your time between doing multiple things.

1. You want to rank up your characters, you do this by gaining influence, you gain this by helping out other survivors on the map, clearing infestations, kill any special zombies you find and I believe you get some for killing plague hearts too. You want to try to get all 4 of the leader types to hero level. It goes Citizen - Recruit - Hero. Being here means they can be promoted to leader of the group, but don't elect anyone yet!

2. If you've got the fuel, start circling the map and use all the survey points around the map, its the little binocular symbol, these should reveal plague hearts. I got 9/10 and had to use the radio to help me find the last one, not bad. They say there is 10 in a map, I've seen some people claim between 9 and 12 in their maps. Be sure you've got them all, there is an achievement linked to it, which should help you know.

Once you've found them all, you should build a workshop and start using your ammo and screws to make soda can bombs. It takes about 7 to destroy a plague heart. Once you're comfortable and feel you have enough supplies to start hunting down the hearts, do so. Take 9 bombs with you and a decent gun, plus plenty of fuel and maybe a repair kit, depending how bad a driver you are..

Plague Hearts Strategy
Run over any and all zombies outside, once it's clear, open the door/break the window. If loads spawn, get back outside and run them over again, once its quiet. Run in and just throw about 7 bombs at it. If its not dead, shoot it a couple times with a decent gun, (I had a 7.62 caliber gun) and it should blow. All the zombies should die, if any have spawned during your throwing. Careful not to go near the heart too quick, sometimes it spews gas from its corpse. repeat this for every heart, its pretty simple. You will have to return to base alot, just to get more bombs. A good thing to do is set up a outpost somewhere in the middle, so you can access your supply locker from a remote location, saves you driving all the way back. You can make bombs and fuel at the base and it will appear at your outpost supply locker.

Once you've got the 4 leader types to hero and killed all the hearts, secure your base. Make sure you're in a good place with supplies, so you won't struggle toward the finish. Because you will be doing this 4 times over at least. Also make sure you have plenty of fuel since you will be driving a lot in the leader missions.

---------------------------------CLOUD SAVE TRICK------------------------------------------------------

Now here's the important part.

Now people following the above guide, don't select your leader yet! Anyone who already has, don't worry, as long as you have the leader you need for the achievement, you can use them. Next run you can just kill them and choose a new leader.

(Note: You can get other achievements with this, I recommend you build each leaders own facility, for those achievements too.)

Make sure your cloud save is reasonably up-to-date, you can do this by just hanging out in your base for 10 minutes, try going to the main menu and back once. Just so you're sure that your save will be synced with the cloud. Then go back to the main menu.

Now go to the Xbox Settings - Network - Network Settings and then disconnect your Xbox from the internet. Not just go offline, fully disconnect, pull your ethernet cable and make sure your Xbox doesn't auto switch to wifi like mine does. (Note: I couldn't play the game offline since I hadn't set my xbox as my "home xbox" make sure you dont make the same mistake I did. Also if you find it still won't let you play offline, try leaving the game at the main menu while you disconnect the internet.

Once that's done, go back to the game and load your save. Select the person you want to be the leader, or use the one you have. Soon (ish) after they are leader, new missions should pop up, providing the hearts are all cleared. Now just complete their story arc and roll the credits. Plus you can also go all the way and start a new community, for "The Next Generation" Achievement, plus you can get one of your community members killed too for "Sayonara".

Now quit out and close the game, None of your achievements will have popped since you're offline. Now go onto your save data and "delete all". Now go back online and load up the game, the save data will sync and you will be back at the original save, before you selected a leader. Heres the nailbiter though, it takes time for your xbox to catch up on your achievements, it took my Xbox 23 minutes to pop all the achievements I'd gained while offline. Now repeat for every other member, this is also a good way of using your people on risky runs to do the juggernaut achievements.

UPDATE: I've used this method all four times now and have unlocked all leader achievements from the same save, It took 30+ minutes for my trader to pop after I came back online, but oddly it popped straight away for my builder, so don't panic if it doesn't pop straight away. I don't know if it matters, but I would just idel in my base while waiting for it to pop, I wouldnt risk starting your next run until you've popped your previous run achievements.

I've managed to complete 61/62 achievements in just over 25 hours played, big difference compared to the 60-80 hour completion estimate. Unfortunately, I've only got 1400 Kills in this time, partly being the conservative type and not wanting to damage my car. If you try to kill everything from the start, you may make a bigger dent then I did by the end.

Any feedback is welcome in the comments, apologies if it's a crap guide, its my 2nd ever.

I've posted this in each of the 4 achievements, just so everyone will see it!
