How to unlock the Get Outta My Dreams achievement in State of Decay - Definitive Guide

There are 5 different types of freak zombies. They are:
Feral Zombie
Screamer
Juggernaut
SWAT Zombie
Rotter
If you progress farther in the game you will eventually run across all 5 where you will be able to hit them and kill them with a car. Feral Zombies can be lured out when you hunt one during side missions. Screamers are generally in infestations and can be lured out of the building. Juggernauts are the really big fat ones and I have found they usually show up when helping defend an Enclave. I will run out hop in a Truck (newer modern looking ones) and hit them 5 or six times to kill them. As others have stated they are must vulnerable when laying down. Also you can weaken them up by other means as long as your get the killing blow with a vehicle. SWAT zombies look like zombie swat officers with the jackets and helmets. They are usually walking around. And Rotters are the ones that explode in smoke when killed. I have found these just driving around as well. Hope this helps.

Don't bother using any other method other than running over with a truck, I like many others were trying to kill a Juggernaut by hitting him, I would repeatedly gain speed, slam into him (losing my tires on the front), back up, try to gain as much speed and hit him. I even went through 2 trucks to no avail. The reason was I was doing it wrong. There are three steps needed with a truck (I was using the nice one).
-1st hit is with speed, he will bounce back and blow out your tires.
-2nd hit drive forward without going in reverse, he will be about getting up as you near the 2nd hit, he will fly back, but not as far as the 1st hit.
-3rd hit, drive forward, he will remain on the ground and you will be like a couple of feet from him, this is more like running him over then hitting him and killing him like the other special zeds.
At no time will you drive backwards to gain speed or increase force. Once I did it this way I got it first try, after countless attempts. Hope this helps.

I'm just having problems with the juggernaut. Every time I attempt to run him over my front tires blow out, so the car doesn't have a lot of speed now and then I try to reverse into him and blows out my back tires. Once I even hopped out of that car and got another one that was nearby and the same thing happened.

I guess my game has a glitch, cause I can't manage to kill a juggernaut. My cars just blow up. I even tried with the police cruiser (it seems to be the longest lasting car in the game) and no luck! I even tried killing it during a mission with Zed and nothing. I'm very frustrated, so any help would be greatly appreciated. headspinangry

Don't use a standard car to kill the juggernauts I just ft this cheev yesterday what I did is ft a black 4x4 drive up to him and press x while mixing it up by running him over eventually he will die using the 4x4 has the best durability to kill him hope this helps

Ok I finally managed to kill a juggernaut! If anyone else is having trouble, this is what I did.... I got a modern 4x4 truck, i used the rear bumper, this way your truck won't catch on fire. You might want to put that in the guide to save people a lot of time.

The juggernaut is very frustrating to kill with a vehicle >.< I'll try a modern and old pick up in reverse this time lol

Just to confirm, Juggernauts can have their health whittled down by other means before you run them over. I threw a couple of fire bombs at one, knocked it down with a car, kept holding the trigger to accelerate and ran over it while it was on the ground. Achievement unlocked!

I thought I'd gotten all of them when Get Yo Freak On popped for me, but as for the Juggernaut, as long as you run him over while he's flat on the ground, he'll die. You just have to knock him down then hurry and run over him before he gets up again. Now I just have to figure out which one I missed :/

I was happy that I splashed one of those Rotters/Bloaters until, as Vash stated, the thing's toxic guts were all over me and my car. Abandoned the car, but I was still smoking and getting damaged. If I'd been in worse shape, that would have been it, I think.

Thanks for the tip on hitting the Zuggalo when he's down; I destroyed two cars yesterday ramming him while he was standing up and charging.

going Kamakazi doesnt seem to work either, I literally had the car blow up on top of the juggernaut, he got up and tore me in half. At least I got the killed by zombies achivement.

Bizarrely I got this achievement after killing a juggernaut with the Artillery Strike ability! I have no idea why! I wasn't even in a car!

I think the solution could do do with some information on finding them to show where there mostly to be shown. Just at moment I'm mainly driving around to find a Juggernaut with several molotov's, no Juggernaut cry

Mal if the strike detonated a car and it was that explosion that killed him, he was "killed by a car" This did work!

The spawns of the specials appears to be random. A good way to make sure you know where one is at is to get one of the missions that pops up saying you need to eliminate a certain type. That was how I got some of mine.

As people have said before, run the juggernaut over while knocked down, it will kill them instantly. They need to be fully lying down, not just kneeling over. I'd been trying forever (even switching between three different trucks on the same Juggernaut and ended up killing it with the explosion from the last car, which will NOT count for the achievement) until I figured it out. Also, weakening them before running them over helps. I think the minimum I've taken one out with was a petrol bomb and then 30 shots to the head, so just let it rip.

Just done this whilst on a zed hunt... Drive backwards in a police car and hit him whilst he's down cos as people say he's weakest when he's on his fat ass which he is 4/5 hits in reverse and it should pop.....

Weakening the Juggernaut with guns then hitting it with a vehicle until it get knocked down. Then proceed to run it over. Just did it today since release date.

Just a note for anyone struggling with this achievement (especially with the Jugga), You do not actually have to kill it/them with your car, you just have to be in your car when they are killed, I just so happened to get in my car at the same time 3 other survivors beat down a jugga and the achievement popped. So just a note for anyone feeling creative with mines etc.

Really simple, I just got into an F150, drove around for 4 seconds then ran into one, he fell then I drove forward into him, and he died immediately.

Two things I wish to mention that have been the case for me.
1, the Big-uns (Juggers) die easily for me when I hit them with the car (always pops wheels, but I don't have a problem) and they fall over. They are vulnerable when knocked down, which is the case for me every time. I would try and run them over when they are on the ground, once I do, they pop, and I am good while the car is still alive, not even black smoke.
2. Becareful of the Bloated zombies (rotters) as when they die, I think that smoke is actually acid eating through things. I say this because once I hit one with my car, and the smoke was all over me. I was losing health and stamina while in the car. Luckily I had a lot of health and didn't die, but I would have if I was weekend to about half way.

Please note this is a solution to kill the Juggernaut (big fat zombie) with a vehicle.

for this you are going to need an M67 grenade & an Anti Personnel mine.
When you come across a juggernaut get out of your vehicle then place a mine about 5-10 metres in front of the car & the juggernaut should be about 20 metres away in an imaginary straight line.
now equip M67 grenade & throw it at the juggernaut.
A direct hit will rile him but he may not run after you.
now get in the car & honk your horn. This will definitely rile him & he'll come running straight at you. He'll step on the mine which will kill him. As long as you stay in the car it counts as a vehicle kill. This method was how I popped the achievement

I've ran over all the types of zombies and haven't gotten it. I'm going to go through again and hunt them all down with one car and see if it works. To take out the Juggernauts, I just use a modern pickup truck that's fully repaired. Just run into a Juggernaut at high speed. It'll blow out the tires and knock the Juggernaut down. Don't let off the gas. Just keep going and it'll hit the big guy again and kill him. He'll get up if you don't have enough speed the second time.

I just wanna confirm that it is actually possible to drive over the Big'Um (Juggernaut) & it has nothing to do with the size of the car,I have run him over in pretty much everything, had a good character get ripped in half by the big bastard & ever since I didn't wanna risk it so as I said hit him with a car which will blow out the tires (I prefer to reverse when I hit him since the cars seems to last longer this way, this trick is also good when running down Hoards) & make the Big'Um fall to the ground, now the trick is to run over him while he's lying down which I actually have found easier to do with blown out tires cause you stay closer to him after a hit but that might just be me so anyway simply just keep hitting him. . .once to get him down & then as fast a possible run him over while he's lying down, might take some practice but a hell of a lot easier & safer than doing it in hand to hand combat

Did you have to do this with the SAME ONE car or where u able to this with different cars. and Do you have to do it all in the same gameplay or Day or can u split this up and just run the zombies over as u kill them??

Because I know for sure I have ran over ALL these zombies and killed them with cars.

It was just I did it with different cars, during different gameplays on different days. and I never got it

The zombies you need to take out are:

  • Feral Zombie
  • Screamer
  • Big Bastard (Juggernaut )
  • SWAT Zombie (Armored Zombie)
  • Rotter

For the most part, they are very easy to kill in any vehicle, with a couple of notes. The Rotter, when killed, will spew his nasty health/stamina reducing acid crap all over your car, so you will need to get out of it until it disappears (which takes a while) so you don't die. The Big Bastard is ridiculously powerful and will require multiple vehicles to kill, or you can soften him up with guns/melee, OR you can find a mint condition four-door pickup and ram him with that as it seems to be the only vehicle that will kill him before he kills it. Don't expect to have all of your tires at the end of the fight though. As the freak zombies become more common, this achievement will become easier.

Here are all the types: the feral, swat, screamer, bloated and big un' or Big bastard.

None of them are dangerous except the last two. When you hit a bloated, quickly run out of the car, it releases poisonous gases after death, it is useless to leave.

The big bastard needs to be hit by the back of the car, so it receives less damage, but you need to have a perfectly new car, not damaged. Video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_ffV__7M0k
