How to unlock the It Was Just a Police Action achievement in State of Decay - Definitive Guide

When playing you will get a radio call from the sgt. in the army getting all mad because no one is opening the gates at the bridge. Simply go to the location that appears and do that quest with him. I think its a story mission so it isnt missable.

I had completed every story mission and this mission just was not appearing on my map. I saved the game and went to bed for the night and when I played the next day it appeared within 20 minutes of playing. If you are playing for hours without it popping up, just quit and come back to it the next day.

They have you waiting so damn long for the missions to appear.

It seems that each mission unlocks after a number of "game days" after you completed the previous one - so you'll have to wait for time to pass. I left this achievement for last, so I did a lot of scavenging and character power-up while I waited.

I already beat the story twice to get that achievements I did that mission twice and nothing I have 99% because that achievement don't want to work. I guess is glitched / bugged or something. I had to leave it like that.

yea a lot of people are saying its random when it appears and not the type of game where its one after the other so there is always a story quest. So either wait and explore etc. Or try Divstorms method.

Can be done when you finish the quests called "SGT erik tan" and the "somethings missing" quests. You will meet the army by the bridge and bust it down so you can find out what they have been up to. Then proceed inside using the police car until you reach the base. That simple.

Story related it seems so it shouldn't be missable hopefully.

Video below to show the full extent of the mission.

I can confirm that if the mission 'Sgt. Erik Tan' does not show up, quit the game and come back the next day, it shows up after about 20 minutes of playing.

I completed the rest of the story missions and ran around and did the bullsh*t side missions/waited for about 5 hours but this mission still wasn't showing up, a comment on the top solution suggested this method so I quit and came back today, played for about 20 minutes and the mission showed.

-Credits to DivStorm for suggesting this.

For those having to wait an insane amount of time for "Sgt. Erik Tan" to pop up (1-2+ hours). You need to equip a gun, climb your base's watch tower and kill a zombie (before the sniper positioned at the watch tower does). If you have outposts surrounding your base, then you need to tear them down in order for zombies to spawn nearby. (Back up your save just in case).

The mission appeared for me instantly after doing this.

Story related. After all of the other quest chains have wrapped up, you'll eventually hear from Sgt. Tan who is trying to cross the bridge to the Northernmost town. Head up there to help him out. Once you reach the now empty fairgrounds, you'll get the achievement. This doesn't really tell you what the hell the Army was doing besides the fact they left behind the only sane people with them.
