How to unlock the Land Usage achievement in State of Decay: Year-One - Definitive Guide

There seems to be some confusion as to what will cause this to pop. Some places come with things built in, others don't. So this is exactly what I did...

I did not build at the ranger station.

I did not build at the church.

I went straight from the church to the warehouse. (Nowhere else in between.)
-Storage (fixed built-in)
-Bedroom (fixed built-in)
-Workshop (fixed built-in)

-Watchtower (did not upgrade)
-Medical upgraded to infirmary
-Sleeping area upgraded to bunkhouse
-Training area
-Library
-Storage (a second one)

After the warehouse, I went to the fairgrounds. (Again, nowhere else.)
-Fixed the facilities that were there
-Kitchen (already there)
-Dining area (already there)
-Storage (already there)
-Watchtower (already there)

Then I built:
-Sleeping area
-Sleeping area upgraded to bunkhouse
-Medical upgraded to infirmary
-Workshop (not upgraded)
-A second medical because I messed up, then tore it down and built...
-Storage, but I was trying to get this achievement, so I tore that down and built...
-Garden

As soon as the garden finished, POP!

Note, I did NOT build my own kitchen or dining area. The ones I had were built-in. I don't think that upgrades matter for the achievement.

I hope this makes things more clear. toast

Upgrades do not matter. Or at least most don't. I only upgraded the Watch Tower, Sleeping area and Medical area.

Do you need to have all these concurrently? Or can you build one, tear it down, and build something else in its place?

You can tear them down. Pretty hard otherwise with such little space.

it would be beastly if there was a homebase that could have everything. Especially the warehouse, because i have outposts surrounding it, that the whole section of that town is isolated and zombie free.

I was nearly going to give up thought I done every (x2) then I done (the picture with the oven, even though it was built in the church) and achievement popped

I figured this would help a lot of you guys. In breakdown you need to max out every facility. Here is what i figured out works and also can get this achievement for it too.

1. Library
2. Dining Area
3. Cooking Area
4. Training Area -> Dojo
5. Garden -> Greenhouse
6. Sleeping Area -> Bunkhouse
7. Watchtower -> Shooting Platform
8. Storage -> Food Storage -> Refrigerated Storage
9. Basic Workshop -> Workshop -> Machine Shop
10. Basic Workshop -> Workshop -> Munitions Shop
11. Medical Area -> Infirmary -> Medical Lab

Please let me know if theres anything i should add or edit.

Good luck!

i think as long as you have that and upgrade to each facility it shouldn't matter for this cheevo. My guide is basically just letting you know from scratch what needs to be built.

Good guide, thumbs up. I am not sure you need to upgrade all facility's to max, as I popped the achievement without upgrading the Training Area to Dojo and Storage to Refrigerated Storage

Does this need to be done in one playthrough?

For the achievement - No
For the level 1 Breakdown (DLC) Hero - Yes

this isn't it - i popped it without all of that - but i'm scratching my head on how and why - I never built a dining area (but got one at the fairgrounds), never built a dojo ever, never built refrigerated storage or a munitions shop (neither ever)- i'm thinking it pops as long as you get one item in each line, either by building it or getting it with your house

I know in the Xbox 360 version it was just about 100% confirmed that built in facilities did not count. This might also be because of glitches in the game too. Because a lot of the areas originally came fully upgraded. For example, I believe that Snyder Trucking Warehouses Workshop was a Munitions Shop or something automatically and they decided to take that out. That might have something to do with some of the built in facilities counting towards this achievement and others not.

You do not need to have all of the facilities up at the same time (impossible). Just having built at least one of each will reward you with the achievement. Some Home Bases have prebuilt facilities and these do not count towards the requirement.
