How to unlock the Manifest Destiny achievement in State of Decay: Year-One - Definitive Guide

To unlock this achievement, you need to setup 8 outposts. First things first, you need to either move into Snyders Trucking Warehouse or the Fairfield Fairgrounds potential home sites.

To unlock potential homesites in State of Decay you can do either of the following:
Play the Main Game until you rescue Jacob Ritter, he will eventually heal his wounds then the two of you go house hunting. You can change your home then
or
In Breakdown, you can move in after moving into your first home.

To move in you need 12 People for the Main Game and 10 People for Breakdown.
Be sure to have 50 Materials.

Now you have moved into Snyders/Fairgrounds you need to setup outposts.

To set up an outpost, you'll need to go to any building and fully search it, once fully searched you press Down on the D-Pad to go to radio commands, you can select the "Establish Outpost" option for 50 Influence.

Now you've created your first outpost! Now you repeat the process 7 more times and the Achievement will pop.

(Be mindful that you can only use the "Establish Outpost" option a few times before you need to wait, so some patience is required here)

Happy Outposting! (is that a word?)

You do not need to move into the larger areas to start building outposts. You can build outposts from the church and they will count towards your total. You can then delete them once you reach 8, get the cheevo, them build more around your final base.

Also, the 'wait time' between establishing an outpost is 30 minutes. That's after each one, so you can't do it a few times fast. Usually, by the time you do a mission or two, then clear out the next area for an outpost, it is available.

I moved into the house as I didn't have enough survivors. I don't mind moving again now I have enough survivors. But will all my supply locker equipment move along with me? Could swear I lost everything when i left the church.

I found that Lilly wouldn't let me establish any more outposts due to lack of enough people to man them. I had to try and build up my community before I could build more.

I had 3 achievements bug for me in this game (1 story related, the other being that I had to do 6 CLEO drops instead of 5), but this was one bugged the worst by far. I have built 8 outposts, destroyed a couple outposts and built elsewhere, destroyed all 8 outposts and built 8 elsewhere... still no achievement. At this point, I may have to delete my save and hope replaying the entire game pops it. What a buggy mess of a game
