State of Decay: Year-One

This achievement can only be obtained in the "Lifeline" play mode.

There's an easily accessed area near your base that constantly spawns a decent number of zombies. Exit the base through the eastern doors and head north into an alley and then turn west until you come to a couple of garbage bins against a brick wall. Zombies will infinitely spawn in these back areas. Just toss a grenade in, blow them up, and wait a few seconds to let some more spawn in. Repeat this as many times as is necessary to get the 100 kills.


Drone Strikes:

From the beginning of the game you have access to Drone Strikes. Use on the d-pad to bring up the "Radio Assistance" menu. You will have access to Drone Strikes until a certain period of time has passed after completing the "Reach the Crash Site" objective and "rescuing" the first VIP. After this, you must establish outposts at each of the Drone Trailers to regain access to Drone Strikes.


Note 1: You can't establish outposts until after completing the first objective and gaining access to the base.
Note 2: You can't obtain more Drone Strikes if your inventory is full.
Note 3: If you establish both outposts and don't complete the first VIP mission, you'll have access to double Drone Strikes.

Throwing the Drone Strike Marker into a danger zone is handy, but here is how you get the drone strike.

When you start off the game and you are in contact with DOGHOUSE you will have access to Drone Strikes. However, very soon into the game you will loose contact and will therefore loose your ability.

There are two locations for drones, and from what i have read on the web will sometime be either a drone strike or a drone recon (you get one of each)

1. NORTH on the highway turn off. For me this was my first and was a recon.
2. EAST city area OFF the highway behind the supermarket. This was my drone strike.

Assuming you get the recon before you get the strike, I would suggest doing the Eastern Supermarket first.

Then you can go back to your base and toss it over the green gate on the left of your base (as stated in other solutions). There is a danger zone back there (if you run through it like I did (stupidly at night!))

There really is no reason for the high ratio of this achievement.

The way i did this was quick and easy with no threat of dying as in the other solution. Head out of your main base and go toward the highway. Turn left on the road before the highway and continue west of your base. Up ahead you will see a brick wall with a green metal sliding gate. On the other side of this gate is 20 - 30 zombies. Activate the drone strike and chuck it over the gate. The zombies will come from behind the buildings to your left and right and swarm the marker. I got this in 5 uses.

Just a quick add on to the rest of these which are good solutions. If you want to SAVE your influence points then do this OFFLINE and use the cloud save trick to reload your save BEFORE you started this. You will need around 700 to 800 points unless you can gaurantee you get get 10 kills per strike since it costs 60 points per strike. I actually went over the fence into the area and kited a bunch of zeds to follow me then dropped the flare for the strike so got lots per strike. Just make sure BEFORE you jump the fence you prep that strike ahead of time into your load out. Once dropped the zeds flock to it and leave you alone just make sure you get out of the blast radius before the strike. My achievement popped about 10 minutes after getting back into game when back online.
