How to unlock the Tradition is Everything achievement in Stellaris - Definitive Guide
Not a guide per se but I was constantly creating new games to find a galaxy that would work for the Surfer Not The Alien setup and this popped as soon as I un-paused the game.
The proper way though is you need to build up Unity to spend on traditions, going into society management to buy them. To speed things up you can set your game settings to .25 to reduce costs and focus on planetary buildings that grant unity like the Autochton Monument. On these types of games I tend to be a huge expansionist and go for the Expansion tree first to help with that goal but Diplomacy is probably the better to increase Unity gain.
The trees are:
Discovery - focuses on exploration and research
Domination - focuses on managing planets
Expansion - expansion of territory and colonies
Prosperity - empire-wide bonuses
Supremacy - fleets and armies
Diplomacy - <- that
Adaptability - efficient planets
Harmony - empire management (If playing necros this has a good boost to unity)
Mercantile - trade
(I don't know if DLC traditions count since mine glitched but here are the ones I know of)
Synthetic Dawn DLC
Synchronicity - empire management
Versatility - empire-wide bonuses
Overlord DLC
Unyielding - defense (this can boost unity nicely)
Nemesis DLC
Subterfuge - espionage/spying

A simple but long-lasting trophy, you just need to play the game long enough to accumulate enough unity to unlock all 42 traditions available to your empire. You can quickly do this by creating a game without other empires and setting the price of traditions to 0.25. After which you create an empire entirely dedicated to the production of traditions - build the appropriate buildings, research the appropriate technologies, and also issue decrees. Since you are alone in the galaxy, you can safely leave the game at maximum speed and return to it only when some events occur that require your intervention.
