How to unlock the Last Action Hero Goal Wizard achievement in Stern Pinball Arcade - Definitive Guide
In order to get to the Wizard goals you must first complete the Standard ones. Here's how you conquer the Wizard goals in Last Action Hero:
Collect a Second Cousin Frank's: This one is simple. Hit the ramp when the Dynamite Feature is already lit, then hit the ramp again quickly. Hit the right scoop after that without hitting anything else and you'll get the goal, which is basically some points and a cool explosion.
Collect a 50 Million End of Ball Bonus: This goal is all about lengthy ball times. This bonus is collected every time you lose the ball unless you tilt. It starts at 1 million and increases by 10 thousand with every target you hit that ball. Completing the "Double Your Bonus" lanes double your current bonus and shows you the current value of the bonus. You might be able to check the Status Report as well by holding up the right flipper until stats come up and using the left flipper to page through the different status reports. Once you're sure you've hit 50 million, simply lose the ball and collect the points. Remember that the bonus resets to 1 million every ball.
Tip: Multiballs help quite a bit. Use regular Multiball and Super Crane to really up your target hit count and those Double Your Bonus lanes will be your saving grace. Complete them whenever possible.
Start World Premier: This is the wizard mode of the game, which you get by playing through all of the Dynamite Features, shown via lights directly above the flippers. Remember that collecting "Last", "Action", and "Hero" are all seperate Dynamite Features as well. At this
point, you must relight the scoop and hit it one more time to begin World Premiere. As soon as the mode starts, the goal unlocks.
Score a Double Super Jackpot: This goal SUUUUUUUUUUUCKS. Only the best players will be able to nail this. This can only be earned during Multiball, which is lit by hitting captive ball shots (the display counts down how many shots you have left). Once Multiball is lit, hit the left scoop to start. Multiball is divided into phases, with the final phase being the Double Super Jackpot. Here's how it works:
Phase 1: You have 3 balls. Hit the ramp to collect the Jackpot. This lights the Crane shot for 10 seconds for a Super Jackpot. If you fail, you must hit the Crane to relight the Jackpot and then the ramp to collect it again. If you win, you move on to phase 2.
Phase 2: You now enter 6 ball play. The four badge shots start blinking: both captive balls, the Ripper shot and the the scoop on the right (you normally hit this scoop to collect Wildcards). Once those 4 shots have been completed, the Crane relights for another Super Jackpot for 10 seconds. Hit the Crane to proceed to phase 3.
Phase 3: All 4 badge shots relight. Complete them all again. This time, completing them all lights the ramp for a Super Jackpot. Collecting the Super Jackpot off the ramp lights up the Crane for 10 seconds for the final Double Super Jackpot. If you fail, you go back to hitting the badge shots again. If you win, you clear the goal and relieve yourself from the torture that is this goal. Remember that throughout this entire ordeal, you must always have at least 2 balls in play, otherwise you must restart Multiball. If you fail to collect the first Jackpot, you can shoot the Left Scoop to restart Multiball for a short time.
Strategy: USE THAT SMART MISSILE! Hitting RB or LB (it's one of those two buttons) at any time launces the Smart Missile, instantly completes whatever task you're currently working on. If Multiball isn't lit, it lights it. If Multiball IS lit, the Smart Missile starts it. If a Jackpot of any kind is lit (regular, Super, or Double Super), firing the Smart Missile collects the lit Jackpot. If you're trying to complete the 4 badge shots, the Smart Missile will spot all 4 badge shots and light the next Jackpot on the chain. Just remember to fire the Smart Missile before the timer hits zero, as it continues to run during the animation and if it hits zero during it, you won't collect the Jackpot and you will have wasted your Smart Missile (you only get one per game). Also, since the magnets are super annoying, try holding all available balls on flippers and waiting a few seconds. This will temporarily disable the magnets, giving you one or two clean shots at whatever you're aiming for.
Score a Death Save: This one is short but extremely tricky. As the ball is going down the right side outlane, you have to nudge DOWN and then UP, HARD and VERY FAST (essentially all in one rapid motion) right as the ball is about to hit the drain. It takes very precise timing, but if done correctly, the ball will pop up between the flippers, at which point nudge as necessary to get the ball back to a flipper. Hit anything else on the playfield after saving the ball from the outlane and you will clear the goal, along with hearing a fast version of the funeral march and a few million points along with a cool animation of the Grim Reaper.
