How to unlock the Phantom of the Opera Goal Apprentice achievement in Stern Pinball Arcade - Definitive Guide
Here’s how you complete the Standard Goals for Phantom of the Opera:
Complete a Skill Shot: At the beginning of every ball, you have a chance to score a Skill Shot. One of the three lanes above the bumpers in the upper left corner will be flashing. Fire the ball hard enough to reach the lanes in the back but gently enough to roll through the correct lane to score the Skill Shot. A lot of this relies on luck unless you’re good at nudging. It will happen, but you may need to experiment with different strengths and nudges first.
Earn an Extra Ball: There are several ways to earn an extra ball:
1. Scoring enough points (I believe it’s around 3.2 million for the first one)
2. Completing all of the Grasshoppers and Scorpions targets when “Light Extra Ball” is lit. Collect the Extra Ball at the Trapdoor.
3. Random Trapdoor award (basically, keep hitting the Trapdoor until it gives you an extra ball)
4. Hitting the center shot (Magic Mirror) 5 times, which will light extra ball at one of the outlanes. Lose your ball down the lit one and you’ll be given an extra ball (I don’t recommend this method).
The goal is cleared as soon as you earn an extra ball.
Collect a Trap Door Reward: Shoot the Trapdoor. Really, that’s all you have to do! It's the shot right below the spinner to the right.
Activate Multiball: This is achieved by shooting the ball into the open organ shot. You can open the organ by either completing the skill shot (see goal above for more info), hitting all 3 organ targets or as a random award from the Trapdoor. Once the second ball is served, the goal is complete.
Collect a Spot Target Reward: This is completed by hitting all 6 Grasshoppers and Scorpions targets, denoted by 6 arrows on both sides of the game. Flashing arrows still need to be hit, lit ones have already been collected. Complete all 6 targets on one ball to collect the lit reward (doesn’t matter which one) and claim your goal.
