The game itself will keep track of your overall amount of wealth you've acquired since playing the game. Shipping crops is going to be the general money maker, but there are better options; if you make it to the depths of Area 3, you can unlock the third mine. In this mine will be a larger surplus of gemstones (Rubies, Emeralds, and Sapphires). Wall veins, tillable deposits, and Orichalcum Ore Veins (From Floor 42 on) have a chance of producing Raw Diamonds, which when processed, will turn into Diamonds that sell for 10,000g (or more in Seedling Mode) per diamond. Rubies, emeralds, and sapphires sell quite well too, and you'll acquire more of those than diamonds.

Otherwise, once you've started to produce a lot of crops, you may get this naturally. Broccoli or Cucumbers for Spring, Green Peppers and Pineapples for Summer, Sweet Potatoes for Autumn, and Cabbages and Daikon Radishes for Winter. For Cabbages, you'll need to scour your farm and sell one before you can start buying seeds for it.
