This does seem different than the console version unless that one was patched too.
The gyro parts DO NOT spawn randomly. They spawn at the airplane when you find it.
You will be looking for a crashed aircraft carrier. When looking around at the islands it will easily be the biggest island you find. It's unmistakable. That is the aircraft carrier. Make your way inside then you will find the gyro parts.
You will also need.
Vehicle Fuel part
Vehicle Filter part
Vehicle Engine part
Vehicle Electrical part X2
