This achievement and all the similar ones (10 days, 20 days, 50 days) can be unlocked in Creative difficulty (no hunger, thirst, etc.) with Passive wildlife (enemies will not attack or defend themselves).
This way you can just leave the game running with no penalty. I just left it on overnight or whenever I went out. I set it down to minimum resolution and graphics settings first, just to lessen the load on my PC.
A day is 40 minutes in game. 20 day and 20 night. So 100 days is 4000 minutes aka 66 hours and 40 minutes. You'll cut some of this away by sleeping, but that only works while you're at the PC.
Alternatively, this will just come by playing over time (assuming that you don't somehow die with your last save being in a position that you can't rescue yourself from)

Can be sped up quite a bit by manually sleeping. You can sleep from 1800 till around 0600. Day length is 20 min IRL.

Hello everyone! Is it 100% sure (as by September 2023) that the achievement (in Steam) can only be gained by spending 100 days in the same save, or can it be gained by playing in multiple saves. I mean, does the game add the total days in each save you create for the achievement?
