You can easily cheese this. You just need two drinkable coconuts (or other item you can stack)
Then bring up your quick craft menu (rb on the controller if you are using one). Make a stack, then empty the stack. Do that 100 times. Takes about 10-15 minutes.

You first have to be holding the stackable item in your hands. Then you can hold down the craft button and the stackable item will have a BLUE symbol next to it, if you select it then it'll pop out and let you choose where to place it on the ground.
For me crafting is the C button, which should be default.

You don't really have to go out of your way for this one, I found that at every island when you run around grabbing the stuff, just build a pile for each thing.
I usually had a pile for sticks, palm fronds, fibrous material, rocks, and occasionally the logs(if I was staying there long enough to do some building or refill water bottles) on each island, so 5 piles per island only means 20 islands to explore.
