Worked great.
At the start of a new game, I chose "PASSIVE" wildlife and "NORMAL" difficulty. No need to make this any more difficult than is needed.

trophy, my advice would be to pick and island and row towards it in the straightest line possible.
If you didnt know, you can hold
in order to move your life boat up on land so its not floating about. This is also useful if you're trying to move it because it's stuck.
So while standing inside the lifeboat, look around the sides. There should be a bag, an anchor, and a paddle. You hold
to pick up the paddle, and then you look along the sides of the raft (not the items within it) and you should see a "Hold to operate" hint. So, now you're paddling from the right side of the boat!
Upon landing on the island, I would advise that you pull the boat onto land so it doesn't go anywhere.

This can be easily obtained on your first day. As soon as you have made it to shore initially using the life raft you just need to use it to head straight over to any other island you should be able to see in the distance. The achievement should pop shortly before you hit the shore.

Just to note that Custom Islands, I.E. ones you make yourself or download for the cartography map wont give you the achievement for travelling to it. It does count if you travel from it to a non-custom island
