How to unlock the Two of each achievement in Stranded Deep - Definitive Guide

First off it's well worth saying this achievement is a little buggy. It took me a few goes along with a few other people. Some of the physics for moving animals are a little odd, I personally had a hog fly off the map when trying to put it onto the raft so be gentle. The animals also don't stick very well to the raft so you need to be well prepared. Before you begin make sure you're well fed and watered as there will be a little bit of waiting.

You need to have these animals on board during a storm -

2x Crabs
2x Night Snakes
2x Boars
2x Seagulls
2x Bats

Your raft - I personally had a 3x1 raft, but if you have something bigger there's less chance of the animals falling off. It can be done on something smaller though with a bit of care. Make sure your raft has an anchor, sail and rudder and kill the following in this order-

Crabs - Easy to kill, they can store in your inventory for when you need them. Don't skin them.
Seagulls - Throw a spear into group of them or wait till one sits on a rock / tree. They only appear in the day, again, they can be stored.

The Crabs and Seagulls are plentiful. Keep them in your inventory so they won't disappear and get them out when you need them.

For the next part we're going to use any island to 'farm' animals. Save then back out to the Main Menu > Cartographer > New Island > Animals Tab > Toggle to the wild boar setting to 2/2 and Night snake to 2/2. Apply the settings, back out and save, chose any name and any description and once done go to World Editor and 'Replace Island' on the island you want to replace, back out and save. Make sure your map is small with few trees and rocks to find the animals easier.

Sail to your custom island and pull your raft onto the shore and kill in the following order -

Night Snakes - Poke them with spears, if passive mode is on they can't hurt you. They appear thought the day / night contrary to their name. Kill them but use cn_LT to carry them to your raft. Put them right in the middle.
Boars - Best killed by poking them with a spear, use cn_LT to carry them to your raft. Put them in the middle. Don't skin them as they fall through your raft if you do.
Bats - We're leaving these till last as they're plentiful but there's a glitch where they disappear from your inventory if you leave the game or reload. Throw a spear into group of them or wait till one sits on a rock / tree. You can keep them in your inventory for now though.

So by now you should have 2 crabs, 2 seagulls and 2 bats in your inventory. 2 boars and 2 night snakes on your raft. Carefully pull the raft out to sea and turn it around to the open ocean, it doesn't need to go out too far. Make sure there's no rocks, corals etc in front of you so when you're ready to go your raft won't get stuck. Stick your anchor on and keep an eye on your boars and snakes falling off, adjust them if necessary, once they seem stable enough throw the crabs, seagulls and bats into the middle of the raft. You will literally have a pile full of dead animals. As soon as it starts to rain, release your anchor and get sailing off into the sunset with your well earned achievement. It should pop up reasonably quickly into your journey.

I don’t think the storm is a necessity (although one was just about to happen on in my game). 2 giant crabs, 2 boars, 2 hogs and 2 snakes.

Didn’t even have to sail out to sea, just sat on the rudder after lifting the anchor and the sail wasn’t even down. Popped right after I took the rudder.

Literally JUST unlocked this achievement a few mins ago.
I can absolutely confirm that you need:
2 Small Crabs
2 Hogs
2 Wild Boars
2 Night Snakes

(No need for giant crabs, birds or bats)
My first attempt I had just 2 Hogs, 2 Small Crabs and 2 snakes however it wouldn’t pop even though I was in the middle of a storm.
I reloaded and then added the 2 Wild Boars and it popped right as I set the sail and grabbed the rudder. The size of raft doesn’t matter and you literally don’t have to go any farther than a few feet from the island you set sail from, it’s mostly about having the correct combo of animals as well as the storm

Yeah, this is buggy. I had 2 hogs, 2 snakes on the raft, and the other animals in my inventory. My achievement unlocked as soon as I started sailing, there wasn't a storm at the time.

Wish the terms for meeting this were more clear... 3 times I've done exactly what this bullshit achievement says to do and wont pop. I've tried dropping the animals, keeping them on me, I've pulled my boat on land and loaded it, I've loaded it in the water. Nothing matters, 2 crabs, 2 seagulls, 2 bats, 2 boars, 2 snakes...nothing. I've sailed when it starts raining, I've sailed after the storm is going strong. Only thing ive achieved is wasting 6hrs of my life.

4th attempt which was actually me giving up and going home popped it. Funny thing is I reloaded my save and had the boars and snakes on the boat, crabs and seagulls in my inventory (bats WERE there but as pointed out they disappeared) so I gave up and skinned the leather off the boars, while on my raft, and left them intact to skin the meat back home. So I had crabs and gulls on me, boars and snakes on the boat, no visible bats at all...bright sunny afternoon and I just started going home. It popped almost almost the same instance I raised my sail. So if you're stuck...maybe try what I did to pop it. Stupid achievement, the hell are the snakes on the boat for??? We dont use them for ANYTHING! Meaning through natural play, you would never have the snake on your boat, pointless Noahs arc reference.

When I grabbed the boar, instead of dragging it across the floor where it would hit the environment I remember walking very slowly with it and raising it in the air.

notice, you don't need bats or seagulls. atleast what i've been reading. but the boars are a pain in the ass to deal with. i found hitting them 3 times with spear. collect the original 3, then push him inland. and get him idol before the final blow. that does seem to stop them from flipping out. but for carrying. that's a whole other thing. i found just taking a bed. save. drag get it on there. save lol

didnt pop first time for me.

had everything on the raft (no bats) didnt work.
tried again a few times and eventually unlocked when i dropped crabs from my inventory while at sea.

save when you've got all animals next to the raft, so you can reload if the Pigs glitch out.
once the pigs and snakes are on the raft safe and secure, save again.

Bats and seagulls aren't required. First try: snakes and boars - no achievement. Second try: snakes, boars, and crabs - achievement unlocked. Others have made the same comment. Please correct the solution.

Have changed the solution slightly. Some people have reported you need seagulls and bats, others not. Until it's confirmed I'll leave them in there with the amendments I've made.

Played normally for 4 sunny days game time with boars, snakes and crabs on my ship. On the 5th day, still no storm, i hop on my ship to do my usual daily exploring and with the sun brightly shinning, the achievement popped? 5 min later, i got my first storm in at least 5 days. Close enough :)

spent awhile trying to get this to unlock just wanted to add tho that it only popped after i grabbed the rudder of the raft not while the raft was just moving through the storm.

So this is my findings on this buggy achievement.
I tried the above methods, didnt work at all. Tried it numerous times through storms (lightening, rough seas, rain)

However I tried something new, made a second raft, it was a 3x2 size to keep bores and snakes from sliding off.
*Had a sail, anchor and a outboard motor.*
I had birds, bats and crabs in my inventory.
Apparently bats disappear in 24hrs, so farmed them every night.

Waited for a storm on my home island in the shallows so raft wont rock, prevent bores from sliding off.
When the first sound of *lightning* hit, I travelled out into the rough sea. The achievement popped about 15seconds from leaving.

Hope this helps others who are struggling to acquire this buggy achievement.

Using all the comments here I got this to pop! Thank you all so much, before finding this thread I had all my animals (birds and bats included) on my raft, but I had them in on the raft base with no floor so they wouldn’t slide out, I sailed through a storm and nothing, no achievement, after finding this thread I re-loaded my save and then went out to open sea, I had just the boars and snakes onboard on an actual raft floor Around my sail, and the bats crabs and birds Stayed in my inventory, I was actually just standing there on my raft waiting for a storm, when I got the achievement my anchor Was down, Sails up, i wasn’t even operating the raft in any way.. idk super buggy. Hopefully the info in everyone’s comments helps! Good luck!

Since they added the Hogs and Large Crabs, you now have to add.

2x Crabs
2x Night Snakes
2x Boars
2x Hogs
2x Large Crabs.

i got it with a 5×5 raft and only boar crabs and snakes on it. but its a bit glichy. i restarted a few tkmes cause it doesnt pooped first times.

I finally got this achievement!!! I built a massive raft, but I put all the animals right next to the sail at the front of the raft (the sail was raised and ready to go), waited until it started to rain, brought up the anchor at the back of the raft, ran to the front as the raft started to sail and the achievement popped as soon as I got close to the animals. I had;
2 Boars
2 Hogs
2 Night Snakes
2 Crabs (small)

Just unlocked this with a friend of mine in multiplayer. We took 2 hogs, 2 boars, 2 night snakes and 2 crabs. You DO NOT need giant crabs. We preloaded our raft and waited for a storm.Then he pulled the raft out far enough where it wouldn't get stuck. Hopped on opened the sail, got on the rudder and achievement popped. Also crabs count if they are in your inventory. I also recommend you save when the storm starts as we failed a few times.

just like everyone, saved as the storm started, hopped on, nothing, reloaded save after the storm ended. popped the second i lifted the anchor. so still a bit buggy.

I had 2 hogs, 2 boars, and 2 snakes on the boat. I also had 2 small crabs in my inventory. I was dragging my boat out into the deeper water to prepare for a storm and it popped as I was pulling it out. It was also a clear day with no storm anywhere around.

I’m not entirely sure but this could be a (positively) buggy achievement. I had 2 hogs, 2 boars, 2 snakes, and 2 crabs preloaded onto a raft in preparation for a storm. I got bored waiting around and decided to sail around to get more materials and things when the achievement popped. no storm or anything.

After hours and hours trying for this, with many different combinations of animals, on raft, in my inventory etc etc. This is how I finally got this to pop

Despite what the guide says you 100% need 2 x hogs (the big ones) as I was just trying with boars and it wouldn't work.

So I had 2 x hogs, 2 x boars, 2 x snakes, 2 x crabs on my raft. I had 2 x bats and 2 x seagulls in my inventory. I pulled my anchor and withing a few seconds it popped... I hasten to add it was not a storm nor was it even raining... It was the regular sunny weather. Hope this helps as this was an absolute nightmare for me.

Oh and for anyone struggling with balancing your raft I upgraded mine to a 3x3 which helped lots.

ok, this one drove me nuts. I ended up having a bugged raft, as in one that I could not deconstruct due to the known bug. I had sailed all over with all the above referenced animals and it would not pop. THEN, I created a new raft with a motor and plenty of gas. I was going for a 3x3, but I had not yet put in the front 2 corners. I put plank flooring on all raft parts except the middle rectangle. I tossed all into that center spot, 2 hogs, 2 wild boars, 2 crabs, and 2 night snakes. I started piloting my new boat to get it away from the cursed raft and immediately the achievement popped. So if you are having problems with it unlocking, you might have to try with a new boat.

Just unlocked it and this is what I had:

It appears as if the 'storm' requirement is actually needed. I tried sailing around with those things during clear skies and nothing. Waited for a storm to pop up and as soon as I took the rudder, the achievement popped.

I just got this with two of each hogs, wild boars, snakes, and small crabs. It only popped in the storm as soon as I used the rudder, but the good news is it worked when my raft was completely beached (nowhere near the water) so I didn't have to mess with buoyancy and sailing.

Good God this was a buggy achievement. After about two hours of attempting I finally just pulled out the raft into a storm with only the two snakes and two hogs and while I was still swimming I got the chievo. At that point I didn't even have the bats in my inventory just the crabs and seagulls. This was just super buggy with the hogs and snakes bouncing everywhere it was annoying af. This should have been where we could put the two hogs and snakes in our inventory like the other three animals then place all in the raft.

This didnt unlock for me at the first attempt, so after the storm i went back tomy base, saved and restarted my Xbox. As soon as the game loaded back up i went to the raft and and sailed (without a storm), as soon as I lowered the sails, the achievement popped.

Without seagulls and bats

Hey! This may be helpful information for people struggling to keep their raft from tipping over.

So I loaded my default raft with 2 boars, snakes, & crabs right on the shore by the water. Waited a few days until a storm and when in full swing I grabbed my raft with the drag feature and swam backwards while holding it. As soon as I entered open waters and off the island while dragging the raft. The achievement popped.

Before this I reloaded my save 20 times trying to stop my raft from tipping over because off the dead weight (hehe pun). In a desperate attempt I just dragged it out into the ocean and boom! Achievement! Didn’t even have to get in the raft.

Update! (2/9/2023). I got the achievement after several failed attempts following others advice and tips, as I couldn't find any recent posts about how to get it. I got 2 hogs, 2 boars, 2 snakes, 2 large crabs, and 2 small crabs (tried without the large crabs and it didn't work). Put them all on my main beach (as I collected them one species at a time, cause all together were making my 3×3 raft sink quite a bit). Waited for a storm (while i did other stuff). Then quickly put them all on my raft when it started. Saved (in case it didn't work lol). Jumped on my raft. Brought up the anchor. Launched the sail. And it binged! (While still in the shallows, didn't have to go any where!). Finally! Hope this helps any one still trying to get the achievement. Oh and I'm on an Xbox if that makes a difference.

I just got it to pop with no storm, 2 hogs, 2 boars, 2 snakes and 2 large crabs. Seagulls, bats and small crabs were in my inventory not on the raft. I pulled up my anchor and was trying to motor out to sea to wait when it popped.

Based off experiences in a month with having the animals at sea, with both old and new patches during this time, this is what I've come to conclude.

Everything now is simply based off of:
2 hogs
2 wild boars
2 snakes
2 crabs (little ones are perfectly okay, big ones are good too but with a full ship of the animals itll tend to sink it while sailing alot more)

When unlocking it, I had lost one hog at sea while manualing moving the ship earlier in my play. Arriving at a new island, a storm had started. I quickly went to the island and saved my game (campfire already established). This allowed me to rerun it if i made any mistakes. I then killed a hog which blessfully was on the island and ran it to the boat. Instead of keeping the crabs in my inventory, I put them on the boat as well. Carefully turning around during the storm, I headed out.
With 8 animals on my boat, shortly after leaving the island ( a good 100-200m minimum from shoreline) it popped.

Tedious, but so worth getting. Good luck!

It seems you need to have all these creatures on the raft and then sail into the storm (big waves and thunder storm):
2x Crabs
2x Night Snakes
2x Boars
2x Hogs
2x Giant Crabs
I think Hogs and Giant Crabs were added later in the game, so those are not visible on many other guides.

I have a 3x3 raft and had a big difficulties with this trophy, since the animals weight too much, so the raft flipped. I tried to drag the raft, but it didn't work either. It might work better with a bigger raft, but I just kept trying and finally got the trophy. Actually when I got the trophy, I wasn't even on the raft since I fell out of the raft and kept swimming behind. In the trophy picture the raft was vertically underwater, I was behind the raft and all the animals were already off the boat in the water :D

Just adding a visual guide in support of Kaksiulotteinen's guide.

INTRO

This is for PlayStation version. Results not yet confirmed on other platforms. The guide is mainly for a visual confirmation for what actually works since there is a lot of conflicting guides out there on what to do.

SETUP

1. Place your starting raft in shallow water (use anchor if possible - I did not use mine since I was in too shallow of water).

2. Place 2 of the following animals in the raft:

(Wild) Boar
Giant Hog
(Small) Crab
Giant Crab
Snake

**I did not skin any of the animals beforehand - I cannot confirm if it'd still work if you did**

GUIDE

This can be obtained on a custom island and you do not need to be out in sea for this to unlock. You just need to be sitting in the raft, while it's in water, with the required animals, during a thunderstorm. (You'll know it's a thunderstorm when you hear thunder). Once you sit down, the trophy will unlock.

In 2021, it is necessary for the raft to have:

- 2 large boars
- 2 small boars
- 2 large crabs
- 2 small crabs
- 2 snakes

The size of the raft is at least 3 by 3 with a niche in the center. For better stability, it is advisable to increase the width of the raft.
Even the 5x3 raft tilted heavily. Place the raft near the island with its bow into the open sea, lower the sail and lower the anchor. When a storm begins, jump on the raft, raise the anchor, hoist the sail and take the helm. The trophy will fall quite quickly, within 5-10 seconds.

if you set two sails - forward and backward, it becomes much easier to control the raft, you don’t have to jump off, level it - forward and reverse makes everything difference.,

animals respawn every 8 days, so you can prepare a bunch of corpses on one island (they don’t rot) and then wait for the rain. It will be better preserved before loading onto the raft; I turned it over 5 times.

As written above, you need 10 animals. You spread them evenly over the 5*5 raft so that it doesn’t weigh too much. Twice I went out in a storm, they didn’t give me a trophy, and the animals kept falling off the raft somewhere. In the end, they gave me a third time, when I had to swim with them a little.

You need to put 2 boars, 2 snakes, 2 crabs on a raft and set sail in a storm. Raise the anchor and sails, swim some distance so that the animals do not fall off the “ark”. You can leave one base in the middle of the raft and put the load in this hole.
Some write that 2 seagulls and 2 bats are still needed, but I got the trophy without mice, because... They disappear after re-entering the game, and I had to reload the save many times due to bugs. Boars need to be pulled with help slowly and carefully, otherwise they may malfunction and “fly away”. You need to specifically choose an island where there are already 2 boars and 2 snakes.

I kept the dead pigeons and crabs in a box on the raft so that the raft would catch fewer glitches. The hogs and snakes lay in the niche of the raft, as described above. When the storm started, I simply climbed onto the raft, raised the anchor and transferred the corpses from the box to a niche (but the trophy somehow fell a few seconds earlier, so perhaps it is not necessary to transfer it. Just put it in your backpack)
There must be a storm when lightning flashes. Rain and waves just aren't an option.

I got the trophy in sunny weather, late in the evening, it is necessary to load all the animals on the raft, except for the flying ones, 2 each: 2 large boars, 2 small boars, 2 large crabs, 2 small crabs, 2 snakes.
You need to kill a large boar, load it onto a raft, and then find the Big Island, on which there will be the remaining necessary animals, 2 of each and one large boar (plus a large boar from the previous island that you brought with you)
The idea was as follows: load all the animals onto a raft, sail a short distance from the island, anchor and wait for a storm. And as soon as the storm begins, row to the raft and swim But..
My raft was small and I only managed to sail a little, the raft turned over and the trophy fell out.
All these conditions apply to the current version of the game.
Before this manipulation, it is better to first save the game so that if something happens, load the save.
PS, to save time, you can disable it in the settings so that animals do not attack you.
