How to unlock the Who needs the sea anyway? achievement in Stranded Deep - Definitive Guide

There are 7 crops needed: You will need to build farming plots for each and use the hoe to maintain them and water them. You need to have each one planted simultaneously on your island in individual plots.

Aloe - Tall. Green plant with red top - Found on islands - Cures Heat Stroke - Fairly common

Ajuga - Tall. Green plant with a purple top - Found on islands - Fairly common

Kura - Yellow Fruit - Grows in medium sized trees - Check starting island - Less common

Pipi - Yellow plant - Grows on ground - Found on all islands - Check starting island. Usually two per island

Potatoes - Grows in ground - Sometimes hard to see - Check starting island

Quwawa - Yellow-Green fruit - Grows on a small tree - Rarest plant in the game. Took me seven islands to find.

Wavulavula - Pink flower - grows on the ground - found on islands - fairly common

*EDIT 1 - Yucca is also needed now

Easy tip. Create a custom island using the 'Cartographer' option from the Main menu and create an island with the the mentioned crops and spawn in maximum amount of useful resources to craft the farming plots. You will need plenty of sticks and fibre from yucca/small palm tree bushes as well as stones and sticks to make a hoe.

Got this on 2 different accounts. You will need all 8 crops. All of them listed above plus Yucca. They need to be in the plank planters. Tried on several saves with wood and the corrugated metal and it did not work. They dont need to grown fully, just planting them is enough. Not sure about water because I added water as I planted just to be sure that they didnt dry up before I could finish.

Not sure what the issue is but I have all of them planted and watered in plank farm plots. No achievement. I don't have any other farm plots that aren't plank.

EDIT: I removed and rebuilt all 8 planters and replanted the seeds one by one, this popped the achievement.

The planters do not need to be plank. I used all wood planters. Cheevo popped as soon as I planted the 8th crop

Can confirm, you can use wood planters. I went to a new island with one of each plants, set up 8 planters, and planted all plants one after another. Achievement popped straight away.

I had a bunch of corrugated planters set up with 6 of them being potatoes and when I planted the rest of the crops this didn't pop. I went out exploring a bit too long and came back to dead/spoiled crops because the water ran out so I made a save, cleared all my plots then just replanted a single crop of each type and this popped so at least for me there was no need to go off to another island and redo everything.

Hey guys, just a wee note for anyone attempting this who didn't know. The eight planters must be placed on a Game-Generated Island, attempting this on a custom island won't pop the achievement.

Kept trying and failing to pop it on a custom island, did a little digging on the forums thinking the achievement was bugged and found this article: https://forums.strandeddeepgame.com/t/known-issue-who-needs-...

Tried once more on a Game Generated island and achievement popped straight away. Happy Hunting!

Yucca is needed as well. Built 8 plank planters. Had all 8 plants in my inventory. Planted them one after the other. No watering. Saved yucca for last. Paused before planting it. No achievement pop. Planted yucca and it did.

I had trouble with this on my home island as I had 2 corrugated planters with potatoes. I had all other plants in plank ones. No achievement. Built an additional plank planter to put a potato in. Still no achievement. It either didn't like the fact that I had more than one potato plant or that they weren't all plank planters. Or even the possibility that most of my plants had grown around 20+ fruit because I didn't regularly pick them. (Took a bit to finally find a kura tree.) Even saved, reloaded the game and played for several more ingame days till everything was grown and producing. Nothing. Went to a nearby empty island and completed the steps I listed first and got this. So it will register, even if you have another island in the game with planters/plants that the game doesn't want to recognize. I didn't want to destroy the corrugated planters because the potato plants had accumulated about 20 or so potatoes on each. So no idea if destroying the excess would have fixed the issue.

Need to plant on one island:
Kura - yellow fruit, grows on medium trees
Quwawa is a yellow-green fruit that grows on low trees. The rarest of them all and hard to spot
Potatoes - potatoes, found on the ground, often on the starting island
Aloe - aloe, blooms red
Ajuga - purple flower
Pipi - yellow flower
Wavulavula - pink flower
It’s okay if the plants dry out; there’s no need to replant them. The main thing is that everyone is on the same island at the same time.

I’m not sure about beds made only from boards, although I have built from them. As I understand it, beds built on the beach (on sand) do not count, although they produce a harvest. I got the trophy when I built all the beds on the grass.

The longest trophy. After 5-6 reconstructions on the main island, I managed to do this - you sail to a completely different island (not the original one, and not the main one, but a third one in general), and there you make 8 beds on the grass from boards at a distance from each other, at the end you plant Yucca Fruit

I planted all the plants, but the trophy did not appear... I already thought that there was a bug, but as it turned out, the trophy only works with plank farming plots; 2 planks are needed to build it.
And also, in the latest update they added yuca.
To plant it, you need to cut down the yucca and there will be Yucca fruit on the trunk, you need to pick it from the tree and you can plant it... but it doesn’t happen on every tree.
PS Don’t rush to throw away spoiled fruits and vegetables; you can also replant them. I threw mine away, for some reason I decided that they were not suitable for planting, which is why I lost time looking for new ones... but I couldn’t find them, I climbed all 21 islands... so I had to remember and look for the island where I threw them away.

In addition, the island had a rock D
But I don’t think that this has any effect on the trophy... I googled the problem and found the answer on foreign forums that we needed beds only made of boards, I had to break everything and make new beds, the trophy finally fell out and yes, it’s on the sand.
Before all manipulations, it is better to make a save file before planting your last and perhaps only fruit or vegetable, so as not to lose it and return the backup if something happens.

I struggled with this trophy for a long time. Having collected all kinds of plants, I found out that I also needed a Yucca tree , but everything is simple there, on almost every tree, after cutting off the leaves, a small shoot remains, which can be taken easily, just by playing with aiming on this object. And most importantly, the trophy must be completed on another island , and not on the one where you are initially thrown. I had to collect all the plants from the first island and sail with them to the next big one and do it all over again. Worked on rope beds.

As it turned out, if you cut down all the trees on the island, for example palm trees and coconuts, the trophy will not work! It is necessary that there are still wild trees left on the island where they are going to plant.

And you don’t have to plant in wooden plots yet! I got a trophy of the simplest beds, which are made from branches and rope.
