How to unlock the Back From the Mouth of Hell achievement in Strange Brigade - Definitive Guide
Easiest map i found is Excavation. Behind the spawn point is a ledge, you can stream enemies up the stairs and slowly Move back on this ledge.
I would suggest getting the repeater early, I dont like shotguns as you have to be too close plus we'll be getting the preacher for the boss types.
Open up a few doors which will have Blueprints, if you are lucky you will get the Royce M33 Carbine, it has 3 slots and a 50 rd clip. I would put in a health steal mod richchet and fire.
Then you will need to save up 10 grand. Open the 10k door and inside will be a puzzle with 4 levers. Inside the other rooms you will see these heads with candles 1,2,3, or 4. You really only need to find 2, and then just leave 1 guy alive(mummys are the best as they are slow) Then enter the numers you no and guess on the other two if you are wrong just flip those two in the order. Once you do this right you'll have access to the preacher, which one or two shots the rushers and and the champions only need one shot per weak spot. Use it sparinly as it doubles in cost each time you buy it.
I found cluster bobs(if you have the DLC) or grenades to be the best, also remember to suck souls in with RT from afar. IF you can use your ability and kill as many possible in a clump as you can soul suck and get enough to almost spam it.
Save your heal potions for dying, each door holds 2-4. IF you have a heal potion you can revive, once you come out of the sarcophagus bee line for a new heal potion.
Once you beat the boss on wave 15, the acievement should pop.
Several questions and suggestions...
-If English is not your first language, please ask someone to assist with proofreading and editing your guide. Certainly use spell check and proper spacing. It seems you have good ideas, but would help if it was more clear and concise. Thanks.
-Must we save and open the 10,000 Gold door first since we need a few other doors open to find clues to the lever puzzle and maybe find a useful blueprint? Your current guide suggests to open it first.
ANSWER: Feel free to open all the doors on the EXCAVATION map. They're inexpensive through 15 waves. Open the 10,000 door last.
-How far must we reach to use a checkpoint? Can we restart from our last wave reached and still unlock the achievement?
ANSWER: Checkpoints are at Waves 1, 6, 11 and per Round. I don't know if you can start at Round 1 Wave 11, then beat Wave 15 and still unlock the achievement.
-What type of gun is the Preacher? Shotgun? Rifle? Machine gun?
ANSWER: It's a double barrel shotgun. 1500 for first purchase.
-What's the last boss? Any tips to defeat it? Or is the boss random?
ANSWER: The boss I encountered was 2 Pirate Captains and a ton of skeletons.
-Any suggestions on which character and special ability to use?
PRO-TIP:
The Preacher shotgun is lost upon death. Use it on those charging bull zombies.
After completing Round 1 Wave 15, all potions are replenished.
The LEAMINGTON MODEL 14 for 800 Gold?
OR
The EASTLEIGH EXPRESS for 3000 Gold?
OR
Is there another shotgun?
It is recommended that you use a character whose amulet hits multiple enemies instead of one, such as Professor Archimedes de Quincy or Nalangu Rushida. In the earlier waves, a good strategy is to run around to gather up enemies then throw a grenade to kill a bunch of them. Collect their souls and you should be close to having your amulet fully charged. Continue killing and once your amulet is charged, unleash it. By this time, your grenade should have respawned, so repeat the process. This is an oversimplified strategy and might not work for everyone. Plus, as you progress, enemies become faster and more powerful so you may need to adjust your strategy.
There is no one real strategy to surviving Horde. Just keep playing and if you find something that works for you, keep using it!
- Play with at least 1 friend so you can revive each other. More is possible but more players means more Mummies. 2 players is a good balance.
- First, buy a better gun then start opening the golden doors. See Pay the Piper for details on how.
- Open all the golden doors. Within the rooms you see a statue with candles, these candles indicate the order you'll have to pull the levers in the room behind the 10k door. If you pull the levers in good order you can buy a shotgun for 1,500 gold this shotgun is super powerful and will kill a bull in 2 shots. Note that the next time you buy the shotgun, the price will double to 3,000 gold and the time after that it will be 6,000 etc. etc. The shotgun does not get restocked with ammo when you pick up ammo.
- Ammo crate. In the map there is an ammo crate, which can be opened for 3,000 gold and holds 4 ammo packs. These ammo packs provide primary and secondary ammunition. No special ammo for guns gambled in crates or the shotgun behind the 10k golden door is ever provided, to restock these you got to buy a new one. The price of the ammo crate stays 3,000 gold.
This is a Horde-only achievement.
It is best to do this with a co-op partner as surviving until Wave 15 solo will be very difficult. One round of Horde consists of 15 waves. Horde is a basic mode where you encounter waves of enemies and the object is to kill them quickly and efficiently. Each wave gets increasingly difficult but most enemies move slowly so you can simply run around them to gather them in a group. It is suggested that you use a shotgun in this mode because it does more damage than any other weapon and can kill multiple enemies with one shot, provided you're accurate with it.

You can also unlock this if you enter a Horde game in the later waves and survive through Wave 15.
