How to unlock the Deep Delver achievement in STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN PS4 & PS5 - Definitive Guide
Just to note you can get this in co-op if you beat a floor over 30. I joined a game in progress where the other player carried me past an upper floor and the achievement popped.

Is there anyone that could carry me through this?
Last achievement I need and I am simply not built to do this end game stuff!

This second DLC will be entirely played inside the Rift Labyrinth. It can be defined as a sort of rogue-like dungeon, where you will visit different areas from the main game.
You can access it once you finish the first DLC by completing Cornelia's Hope and playing the new story mission unlocked. Once you do this, you will have access to the Hall of the Dark Crystal and the core area of the DLC. To proceed, you need to get Dimensional Points by completing small missions called Rifts and once you reach the correct amount of them, you will be teleported on the next floor of the rift (unlocking Challenger of the Rift the first time). Inside the Hall of the Dark Crystal, you will find many NPCs (a blacksmith and a item seller), many friendly monsters that can be summoned (see His Name is Cid Tonberrini), some aranium chests and a cube that will permits you to exit the labyrinth anytime.

How the Rift Labyrinth Works
The Rift Labyrinth functions as follows:
- Each time you enter the Labyrinth or complete a rift, you will reach a hub called the Hall of the Dark Crystal (only on GILGAMESH difficulty).
- Each time you reach the hall, several randomized rifts will be present.
- You can increase your rift level by getting dimension points. You get points by completing rifts. The points earned depends on different factors:
- The objective of the rift (Find the rift, Kill Chaotic monsters, kill a boss, kill all the bosses, survive, kill all the enemies, kill a Cactuar). The harder the objective is, the higher is the reward
- Enemy killed
- Number of chests opened
- The kind of the rift (void rift, linked rift, or normal rift).
- Every three levels, a Null Void will open, giving you a boss fight with a recurrent character. After floor 21, you will fight a random boss every five floors (25, 30, 35...).
- There are extra effects that will randomly be applied, including Trials of the Dragon King. Everything is detailed on the preview of the rift in the Hall of the Dark Crystal.
- If you die or miss the time limit, you will lose dimension points. If you fail too many time and reach zero dimension points, you will lose all of your progress (temporary items, gil, and monster levels). You will restart on the current floor where you lose and you have to start from scratch. Avoid this!
- You can move through floors you already visited but doing so will also reset your progress like you're failing (temporary items, gil, and monster levels). Again, avoid this.
- You can use summoned monster and many useful items (such as Phoenix Down, Ethers or Extra-potions) during the rifts. You can buy the items from the NPC seller in the Hall of the Dark Crystal by spending Gils gained during the rifts.
- Each time you get damaged on the rifts, your maximum HP wil DECREASE. The only way to restore them, is by using high/extra potions or by completing an entire floor (not a single rift). This is bad, as you can't use the Liberator + Mighty Guard anymore, because if your Max HP go down 1, you will die.
- Don't leave the rifts, as it will be considered as a failure!
Reaching Floor 31
In order to earn this trophy, you need to clear floor 30 of the Rift Labyrinth. The labyrinth can be divided into 2 sections:
- From Floor 1 to Floor 21: floors can be easily cleared using Extra Mode. This time, instead of Liberator + Might Guard, you should use Runic Protection ability (you can use it by pressing +//) with any job you like. The only hard part of this, is by completing Floor 20 (see Interdimensional Interference)
- From Floor 21 to Floor 31: This is were things get hard. Extra Mode is disabled from floor 22 onward. This means you'll be fighting enemies that are at or around level 500 with only your knowledge of the game to protect you. In order to proceed, you can't rely anymore on your equipments but you need to creat a good build that can permits you to survive. There are plenty of builds on the internet, but i will list here the one i used to survive.
Time for grinding and farming. In order to create the build, you will need an high number of specific items:
- Anima Crystal
- Rat Tails
- Job Crests
Now, this is the build you want to create:
Classes: Paladin, Breaker (Warden).
Affinities:
- Monk 600%.
- Paladin 400%
- Dark Knight 400%
- Berserker 250%
- Cyclic Warrior 250%
- - Near-Death Damage Taken
- + Near-Death Damage Dealt
- - Near-Death Damage Taken
- + Near-Death Damage Dealt
- HP
- Strength
- Stamina
- Spirit
- Sentinel (Paladin skill tree)
- Classes: Paladin is a standard job from the main game, while warden is the Ultima tree for the Destroyer. You don't need to have them at their maximum level, but having at least the Paladin at high level, it can be helpful, in order to spend Master Points. You will get Master Points by leveling up the jobs after lv 30.
-
Affinities: your grind will start here: to increase the affinities of the jobs needed for the build, you must use the new feature of the forge: Fuse. You can't rely on the affinity from the job points, so you need to create the perfect equipments with the related affinities. This is how it works:
- First of all, search on your equipment for an Artifact with at least one of the job affinities needed at around 160% (Monk, Paladin, Dark Knight, Berserker, Cyclic Warrior) . If you don't have any, you can buy them from Bahamut's Exchange Shop by spending dragon treasures (use the method described on the roadmap to farm them). Once you found the piece of equipment, it's time to fuse it with another one with high affinity with another class. Fuse works like this:
- Choose the artifact with high affinity you want to mantain
- Choose the second equipment with the other affinity you need
- From the second equipment, select the affinity you want to fuse on the Artifact
- Now, use Job Crests, Anima Crystal and Rat Tails to fuse the two equipment. The artifact will remain, the second item will be lost forever
- Repeat this until you have a full set of equipments that will permits you to reach the percentage needed for the build. You can also improve the affinities by using the feature "Upgrade Job Affinity" of the forge.
-
Equipment Effects: it works exactly the same of the affinities, but this time you will want to focus on "- Near-Death Damage Taken" and "+ Near-Death Damage Dealt".
- Select the Artifact you want to mantain and select another equipment with one of this two effects.
- Now, fuse them and give to the artifact the effects desired. You can put only one of both effects to each pieces of equipment, so try to choose the highest.
- Once every piece of equipment is fused with both effects, you can put other useful effects on the remaining slots.
- Now that you have all slots used, select "Upgrade Special Effects" and upgrade them to the maximum.
- Last step, level up all your equipments to level 500
- Job Master Point: once you have the Paladin at high level, you will have tons of Master Points. Use as many as possible of them to improve - Near-Death Damage Taken, + Near-Death Damage Dealt, HP, Strength, Stamina and Spirit. If you have more, you can select any other stats you prefer.
- Command Abilities: Select Sentinel (Paladin skill tree) and put it in +// slot. This will be your best friend. Sentinel nullifies an amount of damage equal to 50% of your max HP. Make sure to keep this applied, and use ethers if you're not able to use it. It needs 2 MP to be used.
- Monk: 600% will boost stats and gives extra damage
- Paladin: 400% will grant you immunity to any status effect
- Dark Knight: 400% will grant you that "near-death" abilities are ALWAYS active
- Berserker: 250% will grant you near-death shell/protect that will remain ALWAYS active thanks to the dark knight
- Cyclic Warrior: 250% gradually increase MP limit when MP limit is below 200.
Some suggestions:
- Always try to have full stocks of items, Phoenix Down first
- Play safe and always go for easy rifts. With this build, you can kill many of the bosses, but there are some that can kill you easily.
- Take advantage of summoned monsters boosts.
Utilizing Co-Op
This trophy is also earnable in co-op:
- Play it with a friend with a good build, reaching floor 1 together
- "cheat" this trophy by joining the co-op session of someone who's already made it past floor 30 and play with them until they clear the floor they're currently on.
