How to unlock the Polymath achievement in STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN PS4 & PS5 - Definitive Guide
I got this achievement when 1 of my jobs reached 400% affinity. Got a bit lucky with my clothing but just grind on choas mode until you got enough percentage of 1 job en put them on and immediately the achievement pops.
Also after you beat the game you start collecting parts that are called job crests that you can use at the smithy too up your affinity. But you can do this only 5 times per item and you need quite a bit to do so.

I got this around lvl 100 on two separate jobs before I even beat the game. Remember, rarer items have higher affinity ratings so wear those red items.

Does anyone know how to get the items to upgrade job affinity?

See Jack-of-All-Trades for more about jobs & a complete list.
Job Affinity is going to be a major part of your gameplay and equipment management. To get this trophy, you'll need to reach a total of +400% Job Affinity for any one job.
The trophy description is somewhat misleading in several ways. Firstly, the way it is worded, it sounds as if you ought to get the trophy for unlocking all of the + job affinity bonus panels in that job's skill tree, but that is not the case. Rather, the trophy is referring to the tree of stat bonuses unlocked by various levels of affinity. Secondly, it sounds like you simply need to "unlock" these, but in actuality, you must have everything equipped for it to count. Thus editing a Battle Set and reaching +400% won't trigger the trophy; you've got to have all of the items/set currently equipped for the trophy to pop.
Once you've finished the game, you'll likely have more than enough equipment to do this. Select any job you want that you have a lot of items with high affinity bonuses for, and equip enough of them simultaneously to reach at least 400% altogether, and the trophy will pop.
Job Affinity gives you two things:
There are two ways to get Job Affinity:
Because the max affinity you can get from passive skills is a total of +50%, this means you're going to have to get +350% from equipment. You likely won't be able to get this until endgame, because you'll need an average of +50% per piece of equipment for each of the 7 slots.
Note: You automatically get 30% affinity for any job you have equipped, whether it's the one you're currently using, or your secondary equipped job. So if your current Battle Set is Swordsman and Mage, no matter which of the 2 you're currently using, you'll automatically have at least 30% Swordsman affinity and 30% Mage affinity active.

Job Affinity gives you two things:
- EXP: The higher the % of affinity you have equipped, the more EXP you earn towards that job. Even if you're not using a particular job, if your equipment has +% affinity for that job, you'll still earn EXP towards that job. Considering you need to unlock all 28 jobs for the Platinum (see Jack-of-All-Trades ), this is incredibly important.
- Bonuses: Each job awards you bonuses based on the amount of job affinity you currently have equipped. For example, +20% Swordsman job affinity gives a bonus of +2 Stamina. To see your current rewards & all the levels and rewards, press while in your Battle Settings menu (i.e. character equipment screen). This is what you need for the trophy; a total of +400% affinity which thus unlocks all possible job affinity bonuses.
There are two ways to get Job Affinity:
- Skills: Among each job's 2 or 3 skill tree branches, there are 3 panels that give you a passive buff of +% Job Affinity: one that gives +10%, one for +15%, and one for +25%. These passive buffs are only active while using that job.
- Gear: Many pieces of equipment have +% Job Affinity bonuses on them. The later in the game you are, the more often you'll find gear pieces with larger +% bonuses on them.
Because the max affinity you can get from passive skills is a total of +50%, this means you're going to have to get +350% from equipment. You likely won't be able to get this until endgame, because you'll need an average of +50% per piece of equipment for each of the 7 slots.

To get this trophy, you need to select equipment so that it matches the profession you are playing, and the total bonus for equipment in the Job affinity section is 400%

After opening the Chaos difficulty, job crest items appear as loot in missions and rewards for completing missions, with which you can increase the job affinity of equipment and weapons.

For a long time I couldn’t understand why there was no “upgrade job affinity” option, it turned out I had to find and complete the quest “indigo memories: the stabbed”.
