How to unlock the A Glimmering Light achievement in STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN - Definitive Guide

First of all, you can do this in versus mode with two controllers. Now go to customize and equip the the Auto block gem for any character(I used Zangief!). Now in Versus mode, make a 7 round match, press start on the 2nd controller, put it on the other team.

Now make sure you put Zangief for your second fighter, otherwise this method wont work properly! 2nd player's team can be any two fighters. Now put your health to 25% and the 2nd player's team to 0%. Once you begin the match, go Pandora mode(Requires 25% health and press Down Down mp and mk together) and you have about 7 seconds before you lose, but you also gain infinite meter too. Wait until you have 3 full bars on your meter before you do anything!!! Now with the second controller just walk up to the first player and attack him 3 times(each hit counts as a activation, so you get 3 activations per round), & the gem should kick in every time you get hit. So when you use all 3 bars, just hit the second player once and you will also get a Pandora Finish that is also required for 2 other achievements!!

If you did everything right, u should have: 12 Assist gem activations, 4 Pandora activations, and 4 Pandora finishes!!

So by using this method You will get achievements for: Activating 100 Assist Gems, Activate Pandora 500 times, Finish a round with Pandora 300 times, & an other achievements you can squeeze out!!!

I kno this is long, but its a really easy method to do. If anyone has any problems with this guide, just let me kno!!!

Thanks for this guide, I'm going to give it a go - but I'm also going to see if I can work in a few EX move activations before triggering pandora (obviously I won't be setting the opposition to 0% health) to help towards the EX cheevs too.
There's also a gem available that extends pandora, so presumably it's possible to get more gem activations in before finishing off the opponent.

Isn't it Auto Block LV.2 for Zangief? The other ones uses up 2 cross gauges instead of just 1.

With the 2013 update, they changed alot of things especially the gems. I dont know what gems requirements they changed, but around the time I wrote this guide is when the game first came out. So if its Auto Block LV.2, then I guess its Auto Block LV.2!

You need to use auto block level 2 that only uses 1 cross gauge. "Auto block" itself uses 2 cross gauges, so you can activate it only once.

Thanks man. Yea I finished mine yesterday, but I did use Vega and Kazuya for most of this stuff, since they are my favorite fighters, but Gief for the assist gems one. I just need 10 more plays with Kazuya to get that 300 battles achievement.

First and foremost, you must equip an Assit Gem to one of your gem units. You do this by going under "customize" and selecting gem unit. Then click R1 and look at the "Assist Gems" category. What you'll be searching for is the free auto-block assist gem as it's the easiest to activate. You can't have any other gems, so simply remove all of your gems from sample 1 using triangle and then put on the assist gem. It doesn't have to replace sample one, however you'll want to make sure you choose the same deck featuring this gem when you start the match. The character I did this with was Yoshimitsu.

Next, you should try going in to versus. It's preferred you have two controllers for this, however it's not necessary. Go in to versus mode and choose a character BESIDES Yoshimitsu to go first and then select him. The other team doesn't particularly matter, just make sure you set your own handicap to 25% and start the round.

Once the round starts, move towards the opponent and double tap down along with the medium punch and kick (Triangle and Circle using standard controls). This will activate pandora, thus giving you a full super meter and switching you to Yoshimitsu. Now, you simply attack the first controller with your second and it will automatically block eating up 2 bars of super. Then use Yoshimitsu's Half-circle back + Any punch move (He twirls his sword, the input is right, down right, down, down left, left if you're starting on the right) attack to build up your meter back up to 2. Quickly attack again with the second controller, then let the round time out. This will net you one Pandora activation and two assist gems used. Repeat the process 50 times and you'll have your trophy!

If you're doing this against the AI, you can use a fairly similar strategy only it will be much trickier given the fact you can't force attacks. The strategy should remain the same however. You only have roughly 10 seconds when Pandora is activated, so make sure they count! You can check your progress in the player data along with anything else.

Assist Gems are the purple ones, such as Auto Block, Auto Throw Escape, Easy/Super Easy Input, etc. The Easy input gems don't count unless they're activated during a combo, and the other ones cost a lot of meter and require an active partner, so I found that using gem 56 Boost Gem Extend was the best option. Combine this with a simple Boost gem that activates easily (something like connect with a launcher, connect with 5 normal moves, etc) and make sure you have 1 meter before you activate it. It's easiest to do this during arcade mode.

Assist Gems are represented with a purple gem icon within your gem loadout (), these gems can be referred to as "Beginner Mode" in Street Fighter x Tekken. Some Assist Gems are active throughout the whole match and others activate for you depending on the gem in question. While Assist Gems make things easier for beginners they also comes at a price, here is a list of the starting Assist Gems in the game, their effects and the price of using it:

If you are using the first 3 gems you will have to chain them in a combo for it to count towards your trophy, the other two on the other hand just have to activate in battle.

Grinding Method:
An easy way to grind this would be in Versus Mode utilizing the Auto Block Assist Gem and Pandora Mode with a second controller. First go into Customization and equip a character with Auto Block (preferably a big character like Hugo) then when start up versus, set it to best of 7 rounds and infinite time (the time doesn't matter but put infinite anyway). Now during character select, select who ever you want as your point character and place your character with the Gem in back, then pick any attack opponent (pick Ryu for the sake of him having a consistent ). After the characters have been selected set your point character to 25% health, leave everyone alone and start the battle. Have your point character activate Pandora Mode and once your character comes out, let the Cross Gauge fill up from Pandora and once it hits max, proceed to hitting him with the other controller and activating the Auto Block gem with each hit. After his 3 bars have been used him let him reload and you should have enough time for 3 more hits before Pandora mode time runs out. You can push your character to the corner to make it easier to connect the hits from Ryu if you want. That's 6 activations per round so under these settings that's 24 per match, rinse and repeat until you unlock your trophy.

Utilization:
While the drop in attack is quite a price to pay and losing Cross Gauge when you forget to block a move it can be handy depending on the modes you are using it in. The Easy Input Gems can help beginners in Hard difficulty trophies utilizing their characters special moves if this is the first time picking up the game, for those who want their trophies fast you can also utilize Super Easy Input with Zangief for strong command grab inputs without having to perform the 360 and 720 rotations. You can keep track of your progress towards this trophy under "Player Data" in the main menu, select Player Records and it will display your overall progress.

The simplest and most effective way to take an “autoblock” stone and play in the Endless Battle (Endels) or in the Arcade (but it takes longer) as soon as the “super” scale is filled, the enchantment will automatically block missed hits. You can also get a “care” stone from throws", but this is only applicable in (endels) because the AI almost never uses throws.

It’s better to use the duel mode and 7 rounds, at the most difficult level - the AI uses throw very often.
