- Select "Customize Color"
- Choose a character
- Use LT or RT to choose which custom slot you want to use
- On any of the choices (Skin, Hair, Cloth or Parts) push A then select one of the options besides the default (more may unlock later, but in the beginning there are 4 to choose from.)
- When done, press B to back out
- Achievement unlocked.
Akari
Under Customize, you can change your custom color sets. You don't get a lot of options unless you buy the DLC, but just change the color of 1 part and you're done. You may also want to share your color palettes for Magnanimity.
Setsuna
To customize a character's color select "Customize" in the main menu and select "Character Color" in the screen after. Here you will be redirected to the character select screen layout which will allow you to select the character you want to edit the color of. Each character has 2 custom slots in which you can create your own color palette, edit the characters skin, hair, clothing and clothing parts. Once you have made an edit to one of the custom slots you can back out with 
and your trophy will pop.
