I can confirm that you can get this using a second controller in custom game mode whilst grinding out the other multiplayer achievements.

Anyone know whether you can get this in Cups or Custom Tournament or both?

Do you have to actually finish the cup (3 games) or Tournament (10 games)

I seem to have played forever and no unlock yet.

@bigfatwallet I tried both and did more than 30 games, so I stuck with cup games until it popped.

Not unlocking for me, only missing this achievement which would give me the last kite I’m guessing. Played over 100 games

Custom Tournament works, as stated in the solution. By "sessions" it means tournaments, not games.

Easiest way to do this is to plug in a 2nd controller, select custom tournament and 2P and select rocket rage once and start. The game will be over in 30 seconds and this counts as one session, repeat until you have played 30
