How to unlock the Great power... achievement in Styx: Master of Shadows - Definitive Guide
In total, there are seven distinct talent trees that are each comprised of four skills. Thus, there are twenty-eight skills that you must unlock for this achievement. Such skills range from enhancing Styx's amber powers to strengthening his lethality tactics in combat.
In order to unlock these abilities, you must first obtain Skill Points (SP) by completing missions, as well as completing secondary objectives and unlocking Insignias. You can view the skills at any time by opening the Mission Menu and scrolling to the skills tab, however skills can only be unlocked at the hideout.
As a personal suggestion, it would be wise to focus on maxing out the Stealth and Equipment talent trees before anything else.
This is by far the most difficult and time consuming achievement within the game. This is due to the fact that you must complete every mission's secondary objective and obtain all four Insignias per mission. By doing this, you will then, and only then, have earned enough Skill Points to unlock every skill.
This means you'll probably be replaying missions up to three or more times as you work on completing them without any alerts (Insignia of the Shadow), without any kills (Insignia of Mercy), within the time constraint (Insignia of Swiftness), and picking up all the tokens (Insignia of the Thief).
Don't fret, you can replay missions at any point when inside the hideout, and even post-game, as Styx returns to the hideout once the narrative has concluded.
In addition to this, the Insignias do not have to be collected in one run. You can opt to replay a mission four times if necessary in order to focus on one Insignia at a time.
Overall, if you're persistent enough, this achievement will finally unlock once every skill has been purchased.
There are 28 skills that may be learned in total, which are divided into 7 talent trees. Skills may be learned by using Skill Points (SP) when you are in your hideout. The total amount of SP necessary to get all skills is irrelevant here as you must acquire every last skill point the game has to offer.
Different actions will award you with Skill Points (SP); you must do them all. The hideout has a mission area that you can interact with via to view your stats for each mission that you have completed. You will easily be able to see what actions you are missing for each mission.

Complete all main objectives
This is what you will accomplish when you complete the entire game story; all 8 missions. The game tells you at all times, exactly what your objective is and where you need to go. See Unseen, unknown if you need video guide help in completing any missions.
-
Complete all secondary objectives
All missions are divided into 3 or 4 sub-zones. Secondary objectives are specific to a zone, not the overall mission. Also, not all zones will have a secondary objective. The good news is that the game is very clear when a secondary objective is available. The PS4 touch bar will bring up the game map, which also contains your current main and secondary objective (if any). The game will also display an on-screen reticule locator for both the main and secondary objectives. The one caveat to this is you sometimes must be in the general vicinity of the secondary objective location before its reticule appears. It is impossible to complete the main mission without triggering all possible secondary objectives.
Note: If you are missing a secondary objective, the final video below for mission 7 scrolls through all status screens (for all missions) right before the video ends. These status screens list all completed secondary missions.
-
Collect all relics
Technically the game considers this a secondary objective but since it has its own trophy, I listed it separately. See My precious for all 8 relic locations.
-
Acquire all Shadow insignias
See Unseen, unknown
-
Acquire all Mercy insignias
Unfortunately, there is no way in this game to simply knock an enemy unconscious. Any confrontation with an enemy results in their death. For this insignia you must complete the entire mission (all zones) without killing anyone. The exception to this is story-related kills, which mean the game gives you no choice: you are required to complete a duel. An example of this is the duel introduction in the first few minutes of the game in the introduction mission. I recommend going for these insignias on your second play-through so you can be positive you have no kills counted.
-
Acquire all Swiftness insignias
For this insignia you must complete the entire mission (all zones) within the specified time limit. I highly recommend doing these insignias on your second play-through as you are shown on the Pause screen exactly what your current time is. Some suggestions:- Skip all cutscenes with because they do add to your time.
- Proceed as fast as you can straight to the main objective marker.
- Avoid all fights if you can; they only add to your time.
- Look for shortcuts, such as jumping off ledges to physically get to the exit faster. As long as you don't die from the fall, you have 2 health vials you can use to restore your health.
- The maximum time is pretty lenient so don't try to go for perfect (unless of course you simply want to). I averaged 5 minutes underneath the maximum time.
Here are the maximum times (minutes) for each mission:
- Introduction: 18
- Mission 1: 32
- Mission 2: 25
- Mission 3: 25
- Mission 4: 28
- Mission 5: 32
- Mission 6: 35
- Mission 7: 38
Acquire all Thief insignias
This requires you to collect all tokens that may be found during your missions. Almost every zone has 10 tokens that you can discover. The PS4 task bar menu will tell you how many tokens are possible for you to find. While few of these tokens are hard to find, they are really easy to miss as you could simply oversee a corner or a ledge. Important: You must get all the tokens in every zone in a single playthrough for them to count.
You absolutely want to acquire the master skill Omniscience for finding tokens, which will cost you a grand total of 730 Skill Points (210 for all of Amber Vision tree, 220 for all of Stealth tree, and 300 for Omniscience). This skill shows you an on-screen reticule for all remaining tokens whenever you use amber vision. As a bonus, you also can see all guards through walls. Bottom line: you really want this skill as soon as possible.

But now you can collect tokens by cutting out everyone and completing side tasks.
Save often. Sometimes you die because of some nonsense, and the last Autosave was at the beginning of the level.
