How to unlock the PERFECTIONIST I achievement in Summer Athletics 2009 - Definitive Guide
Choose the diving event and play it at arcade mode/difficulty.
Choose the second from the 5 diving figures. When the event starts press quickly the boost (1st from 3) button. This way you will achieve way above 100 that is needed for a perfect start.
Then try to correctly input the directional buttons that are shown on the screen. Because of the boost each rightly pressed button will give a greater score. Probably you will gain more than 100 from your very first attempt.
Then when you have to put left and right stick at the center for the perfect landing.
If it is necessary press the boost button again.
I find it extremelly easy with the boost activation.

had to do few tries without luck, was wondering if it is patched or something, but propably my landing wasn't right. You'll get "RIP" text on screen when you nail landing.

Got it first try thanks to using boost from arcade mode, thanks for your input. :)

This is the toughest of the "Perfectionist" achievements. The perfect start is hitting the reticule perfectly every time in the first part, hitting all the directions perfectly in the second, and not making a splash on entry. You can try changing the mode in single event to Arcade which should give you more leeway and slow down things. Can be unlocked in any single player game mode.
