How to unlock the DO IT YOURSELF achievement in Summer Athletics - Definitive Guide

There are three career tournaments: amateur, professional, and summer athletics. Beat all three and you will get the achievement. If you are having problems and are losing a certain event, you can quit out of the tourney and continue where you left off so you can try it again.

Do you have to finish in first place for it to count as a "win" or can you get a cup (rank 3rd or higher) to get a "win"?

I think I answered my own question... I just finished in third place and did not get a cup. So I think you need to finish in first place to get the cup.

As it says just place the highest at the end of each section of the career.
