How to unlock the Hardcore!: Buck National vs The Apocalypse achievement in Sunset Overdrive - Definitive Guide

For this achievement make sure you have a fully upgraded hairspraybomb with the second amendment amp. I found this to be the hardest one from the new achievements because you have to actually do the challenges to get 400.00 points. The challenges in order are bounce kills, grind kills, special OD kills and train kills. Once you start up the challenge Buck National vs The Apocalypse equip the hairspraybomb and do the challenges untill the train one comes up. when it shows up stop shooting and activate the switch right away and let the train kill the OD after that just repeat from the beginning and you should get your 400.000 points in a few tries.

+1 for this, was impossible to get from killing them. Doing the challenges as quickly as I could got me to 400k by the time the train needed to kill 25 of them.

Killing the blowers probably takes the most time, you just have to find where the spawn. Often times it ontop of the two water towers out of the dumpsters.

Great solution! It's all about completing as many challenges as possible. Grinding towards the blowers spawn while completing the grinding challenge helps a lot.

Im only using the hairspray bomb (fully upgraded) with the 2nd amendment amp + overdrives that are mentioned in the guide above so you guys know.

I also equipped the Second Amendment amp, but I didn't have the Hairspray Bomb yet so I'd say just use whatever weapon you have that can kill the quickest, then memorize the order of the challenges (bounce kills>grind kills>special OD kills>train kills) so you can already be heading towards the next challenge when you finish one. Completing challenges is the key. Still took a few tries but I finally got it here:

There is no guide by Proscaline. Even if someone else has mentioned the right Overdrives to use, it doesn't serve your solution to make us read someone else's solution to know what you're talking about. What overdrives should we definitely use?

Complete the set of challenges (bounce kills, grind kills, blower kills, and pain train kills) as fast as you can. You may be tempted to use the method of getting to a certain challenge and just killing OD, but they don't spawn at high enough rates to make this useful. Just complete each challenge quickly and keep moving on. The Hair Spray Bomb with second amendment will be used for every challenge and should make quick work of everything.
