How to unlock the How Fast!? achievement in Super Cloudbuilt - Definitive Guide

Easily the most difficult trophy in the game. You need to obtain a score below the cut-off for S-Rank on at least one challenge per level. Fortunately, there is no need to S-Rank everything in here but here is a list of the levels with my personal suggestion on how to tackle them.

"The Call": This is a special level that doesn't let you use the Jetpack but the S-Rank is actually fairly easy to obtain as long as you know where to go and how to get there efficiently. Additionally, there is a trophy that unlocks by blazing through this one (I Don't Need A Tutorial) without respawning but you can restart the level so I made a video of it:

Know that this run can be easily improved and is in no way optimal but on the other hand, is fairly straightforward and can be followed by just about anyone.

"The Initial Entry", "Beyond The Walls", "Regrowth", "Questions", "Reflection", "Remembrance", "The Meaning", "Mistakes", "Implications", "Bearings", "Recovery", "Strength", "Fear", "Escape", "Best intentions", "In The Dark", "Clarity", "My Source", "Stability", "What's To Come", "My Inspiration", "Acceptance", "Mirage" and "My Regrets": I’ve gone with Pathfinder challenges. None of them are too hard really. Time accounts for 1/100 energy per second which is nothing really and respawns only add up 1 unit to the energy used. It all comes down to taking your time and using the Jetpack as little as possible. It isn't exactly a walk in the park still but it's close to being one on one crucial condition and that is if you use and abuse the button. I can't stress enough how much of an impact this has on the difficulty. You can look at the walkthrough above for possible uses in the Step 6 section and you would do well to keep these uses in mind at all times. There is a separate trophy to be obtained here in Pathfinder mode on "Regrowth" (A Forgotten Path) so I've made a demonstration video. Note that I screwed up badly at the end and had to waste a ton of energy, yet still got S-Rank very easily. This is how powerful a tool, the jumps are.

"Technology": This is a special level in which Pathfinder doesn’t help dumbing down the difficulty. There is no need for the Jetpack in this level, so the S-Rank cut-off is 1. This means a single use of the Jetpack or respawn voids you of the S-Rank score, on top of having to beat the level in under 100 seconds. I have personally gone with Time Trial but you could also do it with Supercharge. For what a Supercharge run is supposed to be like, check out below with "Desire" and "Chains".

"Redeployment": As with "Technology", having limited energy use really doesn’t help in this level. That’s because there are too many sections that are just awkward to skip without boosting and too many that you have to boost a lot into no matter what. It's not impossible but the Time Trial S-Rank is far more approachable. Depending on how people feel about this, I might record a run of this level but I think most people could do it by practising the level a few times once they’ve mastered the controls.

"Desperation" and "Nostalgia": This is where you lose the ability to cheat around with Pathfinder, because while Pathfinder is still the best way to go, it certainly doesn't save you from the sheer difficulty these levels are bundled with from the start and having no items and there being no Checkpoint Flags on the map (aside from the ones you can collect and place wherever you want, which are often out of the way and/or require using the Jetpack to access) will make this want to gouge your own eyes out from frustration but it’s definitely doable if you are very patient. As it is Pathfinder and because you can save up a ridiculous amount of energy with , you can still die like 50 times and your run will still be relevant. Good Luck.

"Expectations": For this one I have gone with Pathfinder but the base difficulty of this level coupled with the limitations of Pathfinder made this level a little too challenging for comfort. On top of that, you can take a few shortcuts with Supercharge but they're mostly all ridiculously hard to pull off. You can check out the Time Trial World Record attempts on the Cloudbuilt Reddit page (LINK) as the guys on there can beat the Supercharge cut-off by over a minute but on Time Trial and because it's Time Trial, you have a shot at pulling off what they do with Supercharge if you adapt your techniques a little in order to follow their routes e.g. using a charge boost (holding when not moving). It's up to you to decide if you want to use the Pathfinder or go with Supercharge, because both are hard.

"Desire" and "Chains": At this point, Pathfinder isn't worth using. These two behemoth levels are full of areas that are far too hard to beat without the jetpack. On top of that, most Checkpoint Flags are essentially impossible/impractical to get and beating the levels in one go with minimal energy is just ridiculous. Both levels also have slippery sections near the end that will kill pretty much every miraculous Pathfinder run you will have. Your second best option will be Supercharge, again in my opinion but your mistake margin will be tiny. I suggest you learn the first half of both levels by heart, then plan a difficult but incredibly fast route as suggested for Expectations then practice the second half as much as you can. The goal will be to reach the halfway point in record time, then plant a flag and give yourself a small error margin. Try to include other Checkpoint Flags in your route but avoid large detours. These two levels are on another world entirely so I have made Supercharge videos for both of them.

General tips:

Here are the things you will want to keep in mind:

Use : is your best friend in Pathfinder challenges. It helps you going from barely getting ranked to finishing 100 points below the S-Rank mark. What you want to do is fire to the ground and jump above it just before it explodes, doing some sort of blast jump along the way without using energy. Spam this all the time and try to be a little creative with it sometimes e.g. when hanging onto a wall and needing a small boost to the side when jumping off, then getting the S-Ranks will be much less painful.

Corner Jumping: Again related to Pathfinder challenges but this is something you will have to master. Find two walls forming a corner, climb up one of the walls and jump back and forth between the two for some extra vertical gain. You can definitely combine this technique with the jump technique mentioned before.

Advanced Dash Jumping: This is the big move that the pros use all the time and you will want to become good at it, especially when attempting Supercharge challenges considering you will have an extremely small error margin (to give you an idea, you have to beat "Chains" in under 4 minutes in this mode and that’s if you don’t die). Remember how I said you should disable "extended air dash buffering"? This is why. The optimal jump you can do is executed as follows: run forward, jump with , immediately hit slightly before hitting again. Now wait about a third of a second, then press and in quick succession then watch Demi fly about half the stage in the air. Note: This can also be exploited with the jump technique.

All A-Rank and S-Rank trophies will pop up at the result screen.
