How to unlock the Gorilla Gripped achievement in Super Comboman: Smash Edition - Definitive Guide
This is the hardest of the boss combo achievements. There are no other enemies during this encounter, so you must keep your counter alive while facing the boss alone.
You will want to have purchased the perk for getting x2 hits. Equip it in the 30 combo slot. Once you get a combo of 30, each regular attack will give you two hits (but more importantly, two points on your combo).
The idea is jump and attack between his attacks. You should be able to get two taps on each jump attack. If he uses the ground smash, you should have a little extra time, as he becomes dizzy for a couple of seconds. During the punch attacks, but ready to jump away to avoid being hit.
Once you get to 30x combo, you will be able to increase your rate of hits due to the x2 hit perk.
The achievement will unlock as soon as you hit 50x combo, so it won't matter if you win or lose the fight at that point.
Unfortunately, if you mess up your combo, chances are there isn't enough boss HP left to give it another go. In this case, you may want to kill yourself and restart the fight (extra lives permitting).
The toughest part about this fight is that it seems glitchy as hell. A lot of times, you will get hit by his attacks while in the air, but the effect won't take place until you land. This is very distracting and can quickly escalate to you getting killed or losing your combo. Also, sometimes when you jump past the boss, the game will kind of force push you to the side and right into the spike pits.
