Super Contra

I did this with a friend of mine who is not to great at this game, just down to a little practice and patience.

Now this sounds obvious but make sure you definitely know which character you are controlling to start with, its very easy to lose concentration and forget which character you are. Especially when you are running together in the same spot so to speak. Keep a little bit of distance from each other.

Shoot away like crazy and always focus on the pot shots from enemies because with the amount of bullets/rockets you will both be firing, its very easy to not spot a shot coming at you.

Share the weapons and be sure to grab your desired one if you can, ideally at the start of level 1 one guy should grab the rocket launcher and the other grabs the spread gun. This will make you both almost unstoppable, blitz through the soldiers and then make quick work of the tank that appears.

In my run for this achievement i took the spread gun and he took the rockets. Rockets require more accuracy because it fires in 1 line, were the Spread Gun (obviously) fires in a spread of three bullets. This way the rockets took out most enemies on the ground while i took care of any enemies/turrets on ledges while still being able to chip away at ground enemies. Plus this allowed my friend to just hold down the 'X' button instead of button bashing it.

Before you start to destroy the chopper, a weapon pod will appear which contains Rockets. So because none of you should have lost a life you have the choice of double temaing with rockets or letting one player have the upgraded Rocket launcher which fires twice as many rockets.

Having a team mate will also mean the helicopter can be destroyed super quick too if you both hammer away at the centre of the chopper from the bottom. You won't be able to destroy it quicker if you allow the chopper to move all the way to the right of the screen, so for safety if you are too slow quickly move to the left of the screen so you are both in position to start wiping out the guys that will jump out of the back. Then finish off the rest of the chopper when it moves back into the screen exposing its weak spot above the middle turrets.

The last part will be easy with two people also but keep in mind that the screen moves to the right for the last section. Even if you dont want to move up, you are forced to. So if one person is behind wait for them to catch up before triggering the screen movement otherwise they could lose a life when not being able to dodge an enemy or bullet coming towards them.

Stay close to each other in the middle of the screen and quickly take out the sandbags together and the guys spawning from both sides of the screen, wipe out the guys sat behind the sandbags and then nail the red circle at the top of the screen. Level 1 done! If you both put in an amazing performance and didn't die, then this achievement will be yours!
