Super Contra

This needs to be done while connected to Xbox Live and in co-op. Really not that hard considering that you have a decent amount of lives and continues to make it past level 2 even if you are not that good at the game.

I did this with a close friend of mine who knows he is terrible at the game lol! But was good enough to make it to the beginning of level 3 until it was GAME OVER for him.

Now this sounds obvious but make sure you definitely know which character you are controlling to start with, its very easy to lose concentration and forget which character you are. Especially when you are running together in the same spot so to speak. Keep a little bit of distance from each other.

Shoot away like crazy and always focus on the pot shots from enemies because with the amount of bullets/rockets you will both be firing, its very easy to not spot a shot coming at you.

Level 1

Share the weapons and be sure to grab your desired one if you can, ideally at the start of level 1 one guy should grab the rocket launcher and the other grabs the spread gun. This will make you both almost unstoppable, blitz through the soldiers and then make quick work of the tank that appears.

Having a team mate will also mean the helicopter can be destroyed super quick too if you both hammer away at the centre of the chopper from the bottom. You won't be able to destroy it quicker if you allow the chopper to move all the way to the right of the screen, so for safety if you are too slow quickly move to the left of the screen so you are both in position to start wiping out the guys that will jump out of the back.

The last part will be easy with two people also but keep in min dthat the screen moves to the right for the last section. Even if you dont want to move up, you are forced to. So if one person is behind wait for them to catch up before triggering the screen movement otherwise they could lose a life when not being able to dodge an enemy or bullet coming towards them.

Quickly take out the sandbags together and the guys spawning from both sides of the screen, wipe out the guys sat behind the sandbags and then nail the red circle at the top of the screen. Level 1 done! If you both put in an amazing performance and didn't die, then this achievement will also be done:

Level 2

Personally i would go as far as saying this level is easier then the first, possibly because of the over head view style of the level and because you can pretty much just run through the entire level only needing to stop 2 or 3 times.

Now as you start to move up you dont even need to bother shooting the first to turrets/tanks that appear, there is plenty of time for both of you to run straight around both of them. Just be sure to try and grab the 'Shell' that is in the second weapon pod that appears almost at the same time the first tank does.

Then advancing through the columns there will be another weapon pod that appears with a Spread Gun inside it, my favourite weapon and an extremely useful one for all levels. If one of you already had the spread gun then you could either upgrade the Spread Gun you already have or let the other person grab it for plenty of extra firepower or to unlock this achievement:

Now take out the turret on the left of the screen as this one is pretty hard to just run past, the shots it fires cover almost the same amount of distance as an upgraded Spread Gun so you will have to move in-shoot-move out-repeat. But it doesnt take to many shots to take down, then do the same again to the next turret and the 'stand still' stood next to it.

Just as you reach the next columns be warned that 3 or 4 guys will spawn behind you and charge you, easy to turn around and take out but just letting you know what to expect. Then there will be a couple of guys shooting at you on the other side of the columns, you need to be quick and move past the columns to take a few shots at them and then move back into cover if necessary.

Once they are down you can run and gun through the entire path after taking out the next two 'stand stills' who are just a little bit further up from the last two. Charge all the way to the huge red door shooting at the door until it opens up, but watch out for the guy stood at the door. Charge towards him and just move to the left/right slightly to avoid his direct shot, take him out and then wipe out the guys stood in front of the boss.

The boss should not be a problem with against two players, if you have a Spread Gun or Rockets you can easily take him out alone while keeping a safe distance. Just be careful not to get pot shotted by the guys sat on the left and right of the boss. If you only have the default weapon you can still make quick work of the boss by moving into him while hammering the life out of 'X' allowing to get way more damage then just simply standing still and shooting.

Once you have destroyed the boss and you are both still alive both characters run through the exit to start level 3 and unlock their well earned achievement!
