Following the guides in the tutorial, you'll get this with your first attack. If you somehow manage to avoid that, it'll come many times over in the course of playing the game. Most of your Mage's attacks will hit up to 9 enemies, depending on placement, and the dwarf's attack will hit up to 3. Later heroes can do similar things.
