How to unlock the Mass Consumer achievement in Super Dungeon Tactics - Definitive Guide
A couple of things to note when going for this achievement:
1st, you can use an item/consumable on EACH character’s turn during a round. (Ie, During a mission with 3 characters, you can use an item 3 times during one round. On a mission with 10 characters, you can use 10 items per round.)
2nd, you do NOT have to use the item on the character you are moving and attacking with on that turn. (Ie, you can use a potion on your badly damaged Knight first thing in the round, even though you are moving your Cleric over to him as your first play in the round.)
3rd, there are multiple sizes of backpack (the thing that holds the items you bring on your missions). You start with a backpack with 2 slots, but there are ones with 3, 4 and 5 slots available as loot. Sadly, loot is RNG based as well as tied to story progress. Progressing through the story missions (pink ones) is your best bet to getting your bigger bags.
4th, different items stack to different amounts. The ‘Diet Soda’ potion item that heals 2HP can stack to 18, but the Health Potions that heal for 5HP only stack to 9. The XL Health Potions that heal 10HP only stack to 6, etc, etc.
So, with all of the above in mind, your best bets are to pick a mission where you can have at least 6 characters (or more), you’ll want the largest backpack possible (5 slots is best but this achievement is unlockable with the 3 slot bag, BUT, you’ll have to use the right items AND you’ll have to use EVERY SINGLE ONE during the mission), and you need to remember to use a damn item every character’s turn during each round.
Armed with the 5 slot backpack, I filled it with a stack of Diet Soda (18), a stack of Bottled Aggro (24), a stack of Sliced Bread (12), and a stack each of the Health Potions (5 & 10HP, 6 & 9 respectively). This was a total of 69 items.
I chose the ‘Long Road’ green bounty mission in the upper right corner of the map. (Apologies, I am not positive how far in to the story this unlocks, but it’s best to wait til later anyway to try for this achievement, both to try and get a bigger bag as well as pile up items). I ran it on Easy, since difficulty doesn’t matter for the achievement.
Once you’re in the mission, proceed as you would normally tackle the mission, and just make sure to use an item every character turn. I started with mostly Bottled Aggro, since it let me get my defenders/tanks more tasty-looking to enemies. I saved my bigger heals for when they REALLY needed it, and otherwise just kept people topped off with the diet sodas. Use bread when your characters have already been attacked that turn, if possible. And if you get to the end of the mission like I did needing to use just a handful more items (I kept forgetting at least one or two items per turn), then just surround the last enemy so he can’t move away, don’t assign any dice that would allow your characters to auto-attack or otherwise damage him, and use up your items til the achievement pops, which it WILL do in-mission once you use the 60th item.
