How to unlock the Hangin' In There achievement in Super Mega Baseball 2 - Definitive Guide
This was my last achievement as well and it was tough. I did it in a 99 vs 0 exhibition game @ 0 Ego and I thought at first you could use the dashboard trick like some (including me) did for the SMB2 Master achievement, but that trick wont work as the foul ball counter reseting if you dashboard.
What I did was I pulled my reticle all the way down as far as it would go to the bottom of the box (almost in the dirt) and hold it down so the reticle doesnt pull back up. I would only swing at strikes in the strike zone. Also I found it much easier to tap X than to try a contact swing. Its super aggravating to bring the count to two strikes and then swing and miss when trying this lol
I probably got 3 foul balls 5x times before I finally got 4 foul balls and celebrated in my gameroom :p

I kept getting stuck at 2 foul balls and getting walked. I finally got this and then proceeded to foul off the next 3 too (7 in a row). Once you get the hang of it, it is pretty simple.
I did 99 vs 0 @ 10 ego and tried to get under and inside of the ball.

I got this on the 11/16th game of a season after getting quite a bit of 4-5 fouls (counting the first two to get the strikes). I used contact swings and got into a rut of swinging too early or late, which seems to foul a lot. As does swinging at obvious pitches that are out of the strike zone to the inside or outside. Swinging at low or high balls seems to result in fair pop-ups)

This one was actually pretty easy contrary to the other solution posted. Here's what I did. I also did the 99 vs 0 Exhibition game @ 0 ego and did a 1 inning game (can be any amount of innings really). I swung at the first to pitches immediately before the ball even reached the plate for 2 strikes. Now whenever the pitcher throws, the cursor automatically moves to where the ball is going. If the pitcher is clearly throwing a ball, let it be. However, when the pitcher throws in the box and the cursor moves to where the ball is going, make sure to use your left joy stick to move your batter cursor to either the left or right of the pitcher's cursor, doesn't matter, while holding in X for a power swing and release X once the pitch is near and it should go foul every single time because you're hitting the ball of the left or right side of where the pitcher's cursor is causing the ball to fly either left or right into foul territory.

This makes so much sense but could not get it to work.

keep trying at it! just gotta time it when the ball gets to you and move it left or right of the pitchers cursor and you'll foul it every single time!

I tried the other two guides and I could not get it down consistently so I wanted to add another solution for what worked for me.
I found that with 0 ego the batting cursor was just too magnetic. I switched my ego settings to 20 for batting and everything else zero. This was the sweet spot for me where the pitch would not artificially slow down as the ball gets to the plate and I could still get my cursor away from the ball.
I would just swing at the first two pitches right away to get two strikes. To foul the ball off I would leave my cursor in the center and just flick it in the opposite direction of the pitch location. It takes a little practice but timing wise as soon as the ball is about to cross the cursor I would swing. It will be just late enough that you will foul it down the opposite baseline without popping it up. I used contact swings too because it was much easier to time it than the power swing as it was crossing the plate.
It only took me about two innings once I started experimenting with different egos and timings from the other solutions.
