How to unlock the I Just Need One achievement in Super Mega Baseball 2 - Definitive Guide
Playing with a maxed out (99 overall) team or a power hitting team makes this much easier
Start a game on 0 ego as the away team (so that you bat first) and try to get a full count, which is 3 balls and 2 strikes. Basically just don't swing and you may get lucky. In case, once you get 2 strikes but haven't gotten 3 balls yet, start a power swing as they pitch. If it's in the strike zone, try to swing late and knock it foul. If it's not, just hold onto the button and don't swing.
Once you get a full count, immediately press to substitute before the next pitch is thrown and substitute your batter for a power hitter.
Now, you have to hit a homerun with them.
To get what is almost always a sure fire homerun (unless it's way too high, far away, or low) is to power hit and swing with the circle slightly underneath the ball. Basically let the 0 ego carry your circle towards the ball as you charge up and move it down slightly before you swing. This should make you put good power into the ball and make it go slightly upward.
Homerun = Good power with the bat making contact low on the ball
Once you hit the homerun, your achievement will unlock.
If you mess up, you have 3 out this inning to try again. If you don't succeed, just restart the game and try again.

Did it 9 times before it unlocked. The first 2 times i forgot to substitute but after substituting it took 7 hits to unlock it. The solution worked so thumbs up from me.

Thanks for this. Really struggled with this one, but finally got it. Getting ready for the pinch hitter coming in wasn't too bad, my main issue was the amount of times they'd end up getting walked due to an awful final pitch.

Use a power hitting team (custom or standard). Face a team with lower defense and pitching. Start off at Ego 35. I found that ego 35 was the perfect level to get the pitcher to throw balls, but still be able react in time to the pitch. I had lots of cracks at this after I went from 0 to 35 because the pitcher rarely throws balls at 0, and trying to foul until 3 balls are thrown is difficult. Before the pitch that you plan to pinch hit comes up, switch the ego back from 35 to 0. Now you can sub in a solid pinch hitter, and if you switched the ego in time, the next pitch should come right down the middle.
Note: Once I brought in my pinch hitter, I fouled twice and then hit my HR and still got the achievement

Great tips, got it after a few tries. Might be worth adding that to change your ego rating you need to press start, then y, then d-pad right.
