Edit: this must be done solo, not co-op.
This isn't terribly hard, just a bit of a grind. You can play at any ego level. The downside is that there's no way to simulate games, so you have to win them.
The minimum run is a 16-game season, plus 3 best-of-3 playoff matchups. Once I hit 9 wins in the season, I would start a game and then forfeit to move on to the next.
Don't forget that if you do want to play on a higher ego level, you can change it mid-game to ensure a win if you are really pushing for a championship.
I used the Sirloins. They have solid power hitting and decent pitching.

I wish I had seen your time saving solution prior to playing all 16 games. lol however, I managed to get the pitch 10 complete games achievement along the way so I guess it wasn't too bad. I don't really care for baseball but find this game quite fun to play. The Sirloins are absolutely the best team to use. Thanks again and Happy Gaming

I played co op and it never popped. Guess you have to do whole season on solo :(
