How to unlock the Whiff Wizard achievement in Super Mega Baseball 2 - Definitive Guide
As most of you are aware there are 27 outs to get in a full 9 inning game. Find a pitcher you like with good stats and arsenal, and lower the ego down to something your comfortable with. You could also play against a team with low overall contact.
Curve balls, breaking balls, and other pitches with movement seem to work well for getting strikes, but mix in some corner fastballs too. Also the closer the you get to 99 on the pitch the more likely the hitter will miss, this is especially true with fastballs.
If someone gets a hit just avoid throwing them out and let them reach the base to preserve the total outs.
The main thing to watch out for is letting your pitcher get too tired because then he/she isn't as effective.

You can sometimes get batters to swing and miss at high fastballs out of the strike zone. Good to try when you've got an 0-2 count and can waste a pitch.
If the pitcher has good off-speed pitches, try throwing a change-up after a fastball or two. The change in speed will sometimes screw the batter up and they'll swing way too early and miss.
I got 17 strikeouts yesterday with Dick Lucas of the Herbisaurs. His stats were boosted up well past their regular levels, which helped. The other team only got three singles through nine innings, and my infielders only had to field three grounders all day.
