How to unlock the Not On My Watch achievement in Super Mega Baseball 3 - Definitive Guide
I'm not sure if a patch has made this easier since launch but I finished the entire game with the exception of this achievement before I could pick a single person off. I could never get someone by throwing to the base and they never ran when I checked, only after I actually threw the ball. After 100+ attempts I was about to give up.
So if you're struggling try this trick: Load the bases with beanballs, throw the ball to 3rd by deliberately overthrowing it, purposely delay picking it up so the runners keep advancing, and then grab it with a left fielder that has a strong arm to throw the runner from 1st out. As you can see from the score it might take a few tries in case the ball goes into the dugout.
Stingray326 recommends using El Viejo as the stadium to help keep the ball in play.

Worth noting that the stadium might affect this method. Others might work but I used El Viejo stadium as the walls kept the overthrown ball in play where others dont. Great guide, thank you.

It appears that the simple pickoff move (D-Pad) is essentially useless on it's own, so you're going to need to get this with a step off move (LT) while a CPU is stealing.
It's seems random when the CPU decides to steal, but here are a few things I've found that seem to increase the odds:
CPU runner on first has a high speed rating, or even better the "Stealer" trait
Player catcher has a weak arm rating
There are two outs in the inning
There are two strikes on the count
Close game, in the later innings
If some or all of these criteria are met in the current situation, just start stepping off the bag every now and then with LT, and hopefully you'll catch the CPU runner trying to steal. Then, just throw to 2nd base and get the runner in a run down/out.

What ego did you try this on. For me I can throw it at the base 10 times in a row and be unsuccessful. Then on the 11th try I actually pitch the ball and that’s when they steal. So they only ever steal when I actually start to pitch the ball.

Believe is was at 70 Ego that I got this to work. I've played probably 50-60 games and only seen one successful pickoff so far. Think this may be something that the dev needs to tweak.
