Play a season game on 0 EGO and you shouldn't have a problem hitting. If you're worried about messing up your averages and stats for the league leaders achievements, then simply hit with a light power swing (tap 
) or try for a contact swing (
). When you hit just keep rounding the bases. This way it'll count as a 'hit' but you get out trying to stretch for more. This way you can keep the game tied and not affect your stats.
If you accidentally hit a homerun, then simply hit the opposing batters until they score a run, or walk them all in. The former is faster since it takes fewer pitches. In the 9th inning, to avoid a walkoff if you're the home team, then bunt it by holding
and you should get out easily.
