How to unlock the Massive Dinger! achievement in Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings - Definitive Guide
I started off using Exotonic's way, but after some tweaking, here's the exact settings I used to finally get this one:
* Exhibition game
* Play as Sirloins
* Play against Wideloads
* Set Ego to 0
* MotorYard ball park
* Skill Boost set to High
The Wideloads have relatively poor pitching; you can hit damn near everything they throw at you, especially since the Ego setting will auto-aim for the pitch for you. The key here is to use the power hit to try and get the most powerful hit you can (hold it to charge up your swing, then release to start the swing--higher number when you release X is better). Additionally, you want to tap JUST before you release . This lowers your bat just a bit so you can more easily get 'under' the ball. You should be getting homeruns damn near every hit, so just focus on timing your release to knock the ball as straight down center field as you can, but this stadium gives you a lot more leeway than I was having with other stadiums.
If you're getting a lot of pop-fly outs, you're hitting too early and/or holding it too long.
It does boil down to luck somewhat, because it also depends on where the AI places the ball over the plate. Being able to hit the ball with the tip of your bat is going to get you further than it being close to your batter, but you can't really control that part. Once I started doing just before releasing in addition to the above, I had the achievement less than 15 batters later.

I did mine in season mode with the third basemen for the Moose. I figured I'd be going for the season and playoff winner achievements anyway, so why not make the games actually count for something instead of hoping for a perfect pitch in exhibition? That and it lets you build up gear to buff your hitters.
By the second playoff game I had enough boosts that his power was rated 80. For the actual swing, I got 92 power and hit it 502' to dead center.
