For this boss, you need to jump into the pink back of the octopus.
Stay still to start with, and as it lands, move behind it (jumping over its tentacles).
Hit its weak spot, and try to stay behind it, to hit it twice more in quick succession.
At this point: bail! It will reverse off the platform, and can pull you down. This is the most dangerous moment of the fight, so move quickly.
Now you're back to the start: wait; move behind it; and bail immediately, because it retreats straight away now.
After six hits in total, you're through.

You have to jump over the wave of water that radiates outward each time he returns. And avoid bumping into his green dorks, also.
