How to unlock the Right on Target achievement in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD - Definitive Guide
My biggest problem was just figuring out when to open the ball initially to get any sort of distance. After much experimentation, I found that the most distance without using the balloon can be gained by comparing your position to the highest banana bunch. You will briefly rise to the point that your ball slightly covers up your view of this bunch. Open your ball the moment that you sink enough to not be covering it anymore. At this point your ball will be able to glide to the closest goal without any help. Just make sure never to push up or down unless needed, as more than a minor adjustment either direction will completely destroy your ball's distance potential.
With this in mind, my strategy was this:
Ball 1: Open the ball as described above, glide to the left a bit, and gather up as many big banana bunches as possible before swooping back to the closest goal. Be very subtle with your ball's movements, as too much adjustment can kill your speed. It may take some practice to get a feel for when you should close your ball, but it heavily depends on how fast you're going.
Ball 2: Same as ball 1 except veer to the right to get those bunches, and make sure you don't bump your first ball out of a good scoring position. You should have been able to get at least 400 points from bananas at this point.
Ball 3: Open the ball a little bit lower, heading for the balloon. Once you hit the balloon, head for the farther goal on the far right or left, potentially going through some more banana bunches on the way. This gives you an empty goal so you won't bump out your other balls. Make sure that you lose some speed before landing by pulling up a bit, since it's a small goal. If you do lose speed, close the ball closer to where you want to land since you won't roll as much.
Using this method you have the potential to score 500-600 points from bananas without that much risk, which significantly eases the requirement for accurately landing the ball. If one of your balls hits the 1000 point bullseye, and you get at least 500 points of bananas, that's only another 500 points per ball you need for the other two. Lots of room for error.
Good luck.

For anyone else going for this achievement, 'fluttering' the ball by pulling down on the left thumbstick for short bursts (Just dont hold it for too long! Each pull should be about 1/4 of a second) will help with increasing your distance travelled.

First ball/attempt: Reach maximum height when you're launched. Go for the red balloon directly in front towards the target. You should get a banana bunch. Now when the bottom of your screen hits the triangle/arrow type thing on the target, close the ball. You should land dead centre or very close.
Second ball/attempt: Go left this time and try to pick up 3-4 banana bunches. You should come into the main target (the one you used your first attempt at) at an angle. Close your ball when you just approach the outside of the scoring colours.
Third ball/attempt: Same as the second attempt but this time go right and do the same as before. You should pick up 3-4 banana bunches.
Provided you picked up enough bananas and scored around 700+700+800-1000 then you should easily reach 2500 points.
It may take some practice to get your timing right.
