Still works. Easiest way is to set AI to very Easy, let them score, then kick from the face off, then a strong pass toward your own goal, then shoot and have your goalie kick or carry it in. Takes less than 30 seconds per shot. Since the other team scored, you get the ball for kick off. Rinse and repeat.

Fastest way to pull this off by far is to start a Quick Match with two controllers. You honestly may not even need two controllers as you're scoring on yourself and the other team would naturally like that. Scoring on yourself means that you'll be the one kicking off the ball, and that means that you get to control who the ball goes to--in this case, your own goalie.
For the team that's on your 1P controller, get the ball to your goalie and walk it in to the goal (or kick and score, either way is fine). After this, you'll have a kick off. This is where you're gonna quickly grind out the next 99 goals.
Start off by holding down
until the bar is completely full, release, and the kick will head straight to your goalie. While the ball is in the air, you'll be given control of your goalie, at which time you'll want to start moving your left stick toward the inside of the goal, basically either 
or 
. The idea behind holding down the stick is that yoru goalie will walk over the goal line and either catch the ball over line (which is a goal) or will fumble the catch and it'll go into the goal, also counting as a score.
This direction will change after half time when your teams switch sides.
It's very easy to get into a rhythm of doing this and each goal should only take you a maximum of a couple seconds as long as you're ready to start holding (once again until the meter is full) as soon as you have control of the kicker (the player doing the kick off; sorry, I don't know many soccer terms lol).
Naturally during the course of this grind, you'll also unlock the other cumulative achievements for scoring goals.

You should get this just by playing through the tournaments but you can boost it with own goals or stand right behind the kickoff point and take a shot at full force.

Score 100 goals to obtain this trophy. The count is cumulative over every match you play regardless of which mode or tournament you pick.

From the main menu, select ‘Play’ then ‘Quick Match’. Move the AI Level slider to ‘Very Easy’ and Match Length to ‘30’ then press 
. Select then pick your team then press to start the match.
Note: ‘30’ might be too long for the scoring achievements but having more time will allow you to earn all 8 of the quick match achievements in the same match. There may be some time left over at the end, but setting the match to ‘15’ might not give you enough time to get them all.
To earn these scoring achievements, you do not need to score goals on the opposing team; scoring on your own goal works and is much quicker.
