How to unlock the The Hardest of Core achievement in Super Time Force - Definitive Guide

Super Hardcore Mode isn't all that much worse than the main story, the only difference is that if a character dies you can't respawn that character unless you save them (when you're able to kill the enemy before it kills your character and you touch them).

Chances are you'll want to get the Glorbs and Shards (and any other achievement) in the normal story mode, so you can just run right through Super Hardcore Mode in two to three hours.

Word of the wise with bosses. Switch to Ultra shieldy and sacrifice blow him up to heavily damage a boss.

So is it safe to say that if you have all the characters, you have a better chance of beating this because you have more to not save?

Definitely. I only used 5 or 6 characters in most levels, but if you get stuck somewhere more characters would help.

Has anyone that already completed it before the update got it to pop? I did all the boss stages again and it didn't force the pop, can't be bothered doing every stage if its not going to work.

God, I just finished everything else and I'm not looking forward to this one. I HATE using some characters... Since you said you just used 5 or 6, could you list them? I would say the Robot and the "Rambo" guy, the Sniper, the Bazooka guy... and who else?

Amy, Melanie Gibson, the robot, the other guy who uses a chainsaw as his primary and shotgun as the charge up (Stash or something?), Rambo, lightsaber guy, and Shieldy (to block attacks and save characters).

I honestly had very little trouble with this, if I killed a character I used most (Amy, robot) in a way I couldn't get them back, I'd just restart the level if I was pretty early in. Shieldy can block most of everything and can save characters pretty easily.

Thanks man! Great tip to use the shield guy to save characters.

@Lakeshow don't worry man, if it's like this is should unlock on the next few days, just give it some time.

It should pop. I had that with the recent Ryse update, two achievements unlocked about six days later. It will also unlock with the date you actually completed super hardcore mode as opposed to the day they pop. Still frustrating though.

Lakeshow - I have the same problem. Finished super hardcore for the challenge when the game first launched. Lets hope it unlocks for us..

PS - Mine also says 100% --- LOCKED.

Accidentally deleted my original comment, but my issue was I finished this mode before the achievement existed and it was stuck at 100% done without unlocking. As others suggested it finally did unlock a couple days later showing the original date I would've unlocked it on May 19th 2014.

This is not a new feature. If you have previously completed Super Hardcore Mode before the update, then the achievement should pop automatically. Some people have reported a delay (a few days) before it actually pops. If you’re having issues, try playing a level just to see if that triggers it, otherwise just wait it out.

If you have not already completed Super Hardcore Mode, then you will have to replay the entire game on this difficulty. Hopefully you collected all the Glorbs and Shards in the normal mode, so that you don’t have to bother with them in hardcore mode. Basically, the only difference between Super Hardcore Mode and Normal Mode is that if a character dies during a level, you will not be able to use them again, unless you save them. In other words, if all your characters die and you haven’t went back to save any, then you will fail your mission.
