How to unlock the Dating achievement in Supreme Commander 2 - Definitive Guide
FOLLOW THIS GUIDE AND YOU CAN GET THE "SUPREME ONLINE COMMANDER" & "TO THE VICTOR..." ACHIEVEMENTS AS WELL.
JUST MAKE SURE YOU KEEP PICKING THE SAME FACTION!
I'm guessing since this title is now GwG (March 2016) - There is lot more people playing.
When following his solution (z RagnaroK z's Supreme Online Commander), we teamed up about 50% of the time.
We came up with a solution to change our Location via Xbox Settings.
The same game plan applies - Find a boosting partner, go to Ranked under Xbox Live.
We noticed that (even changing location settings) if we didn't pick a certain game type, we were less likely to match up. So make sure you both pick the same game type.
When the game starts, the person giving wins simply quits the game.
FOR 360: Head to the "Settings" tab - Go under "Family" & make sure that setting is turned off. Next head under "System" - select "Console Settings" - select "Language and Location" & finally "Location" - This is where you pick the region you want to be in when matchmaking.
Now restart the 360 just to make sure the changes take effect.
For Xbox-One: Go to "Settings", Select "System", Select "Language & location."
Now select your new location from the list, and then select "Restart now!"
You must RESTART the Xbox-One.
The locations that worked best for us was: Singapore & South Africa (South Africa being a bit better). Although your free to chose which ever you feel might be less populated.
After changing these settings and attempting to match up again - We went from 50% match ups to about 85-90%!

This relatively easy to get, start a skirmish but give yourself 2 Cheating level AI allies. They will more than likely kill off the enemy before you get chance to get there, but in case they don't, try this technique.
Set your game to Assassination game mode, and add in Cheated allies, if there is room on the map - remember to set them to the same team as you!
As soon as you start, get your commander to build a couple of mass extractors and an air factory. Whilst he is doing that, get your 2 engineers to build a couple more extractors and a couple of power stations.
Now start your Air factory to pumping out the basic bomber (or fighter/bomber if that faction has one) and set the waypoint half way between your bases. Once you have 10 or so, move the waypoint up to the enemy base and send all units in.
Don't bother targeting anything other than the commander, as you only have to kill him to win the map.
When I was playing through this, my AI allies had killed the enemy commander within 5 minutes, before I had a chance to get a force together.
On maps where there is only room for 2 players, use the above tactic and overwhelm the enemy defences. Its not pretty, its not stylish, but it gets the desired result!
If you start on the first multiplayer map and work through them, this achievement will come whilst working towards the following achievements:
