You should probably do this right when you start the game. Its on the menu under single player. The guys will guide you through every step. The basic command for building is left on the d-pad, commanding units is up on the d-pad, selecting all units on the screen is right trigger.

The tutorial is located from the Main Menu > Single Player > Tutorial. Simply load this up and follow the instructions and objectives and this can be completed in about 20 minutes.
