How to unlock the Time for Some Shut-Eye achievement in SWORD ART ONLINE: FATAL BULLET - Definitive Guide

Dissonance of Nexus DLC

First, turn on the new Increased Affinity Gain setting at the Main Menu screen, selecting Options and then LB to get to the far right tab for Other Settings where you can change your difficulty level (easy/normal/extreme) and now you can have Increased Affinity Gain (on/off). (This is a new setting from Title Update 1.6.0)

The method below will work on any friend once they are on your Friend List and you can add them to your party. This method can also be used for any of the 9 or so base game achievements related to gaining affinity to make affinity gain a LOT easier/faster once you have access to the DLC story from the New Game option at the Main Menu, and selecting your base game save.

I noticed on NG+ and after beating all DLC storylines, once fast travel is available during the Tutorial, I could go to White Frontier. However, this doesn't seem to be the case for a brand new save file with a level 1 character since I hadn't beaten the DOTN DLC on that save yet (if anyone can confirm, and I will also continue and see when the DOTN DLC is first made available during a base game playthrough unless someone can update me sooner).

Yuna, Eiji, and Seven will be added to your Friend List as you progress through the DOTN DLC main story line. (not all at once, but incrementally)

Each of them have 3 sleepover scenes, but you only need to do the first one. Using the method below, I maxed out their Affinity to level 4 with 100% before I looked for their chat bubbles (green chat icon) in the Urban district in SBC Glocken. Choosing the top/positive option generally will be the correct choice in order to have the sleepover. Credit to Armoured Brecce for confirming that you will probably need to have friend affinity level 4 before first being able to talk to them.

I unfortunately started to grind the affinity out the hard way using compliments and trying to get the AI to suicide on the monsters so I could get revives.

Ironically, I found a very simple and easy way to gain affinity after I was pretty much already done. (tested this on friends other than Yuna, Eiji, and Seven)

Method: Since the White Frontier now has infinitely respawnable bosses. Head to the White Frontier starting Fast Travel point and head north/northeast. Waste Gang will be located in this upper corner of the map. You may have to blast through a group of scorpions/bees to get to him, but he is one of the simpler bosses to kill in the new Field. After killing Waste Gang ONE time, and once you get out of combat, fast travel back to SBC Glocken.

The single/first boss kill in White Frontier nets you affinity (on Extreme, one Waste Gang kill/fast travel):
level 1: +70%
level 2: +70%
level 3: +50%
level 4: +35%

These numbers might be around 150-200% of the base affinity gain with the new Increased Affinity Gain setting turned on.

So, killing/traveling about 8 times will get a Friend's affinity from 0 to max level 4, 100%

These numbers are for ONE kill and then fast traveling, NOT multiple kills and then fast traveling, you will need to fast travel in between each kill. You can stick around and kill him multiple times but it won't be scalar multiples of the numbers above. (Ex: You can kill him multiple times and find you only get 90% of an affinity level)

As always let me know if anything appears to be wrong, or how the guide can be improved.

You're correct, I forgot all about something while I had been describing my method and cataloguing the numbers. You need to turn on the new affinity boost setting in the main menu that they added with the Title Update 1.6.0. I hadn't realized I had forgotten to describe that part

Seems you shouldn't do this until you finish the DotN DLC story. You can put them in your party if you play in normal mode, even before you do the DotN story. I did as such, maxed their affection, and then did all their dates before I even started the DotN story. The achievement didn't unlock, and now I've done the DotN story and still don't have it, meaning I'll have to replay basically the entire fucking game just so I can do the shitty DLC again. If it ever pops I'll post how, but for now don't touch them until you've finished the DLC story.

Couple things people should note, or that you can add in your guide:

1. Waste gang is NNE down a path in between two hills, not NNW

2. You need to have level 4 affinity for the green bubbles to pop up, atleast I did. I tried with level 2 and 3 but nothing would work. Tried reloading checkpoints, switching difficulty etc. Needed level 4 for all of them.

3. Percentages you have I believe are off, or at least there are different factors taking part in this as I recieve the same percentage throughout each level . I am receiving between 30-45% increase throughout each level. So level 1 only goes up by 38%, and even level 3 only goes up by 38% per kill too. Not really sure how this works. Mind you I'm playing on normal to kill this thing but still doesn't make sense that regardless of level it is always the same percentage (average wise)

However still a good way to farm affinity and also a good way to farm exp too with boosts. Have yet to compare to other methods of farming xp.

I describe more about experience grinding over on the level 270 guide, but your info about exp rates on normal probably proves that Normal Difficulty is faster

I had the boost from the options and the purchase from Argo but still only got 45%ish max from killing him on normal. However still a really fast way to grind affinity regardless so there is that.

However the amount you updated this achievement description is crazy. Nice work.

Random note: I hear there are more players via ps4 than Xbox for most games however true achievements always has better and more guides. Heck lot of the time there are no guides on true trophies so I use this site. Always did like the look of gamerscore more than trophies so my guess can only be that Xbox has a higher ratio of achievement hunters than trophy hunters

Also I just did some quick testing.

On normal, I killed the boss 5 times in a row on normal without fast travelling and my affinity went up about 90% when I finally fast traveled back. The numbers are too inconsistent to say for sure but I would say your affinity does go up if you kill it multiple time without fast travelling just at a slower pace each time you fast travel? Too hard to say

However this next point though may be important if you want to add it to your leveling guide: With my current exp boosts (approximately 244% exp boost) on normal I get 420 000 EXP every 25-30 seconds. So we will say 30 seconds. So every minute I get at least 840 000 exp. Almost a million xp a minute. If you find a way to kill it on extreme fast, I imagine the amount of exp would be insane. If anyone knows a way with more exp let me know I'm currently level 220 so not a big deal as I'm pretty close anyways.

Hopefully these two comments make up for earlier. Thanks for the guide though.

Edit: I forgot to add how I managed to do a loop in 25 seconds. If you find a faster way then even better.

After killing him the first time leave your team on "Stand by and counter" in front of his spawn position. I use pistols (Betelgeuse 4) and alternate between quick shot level 3 and quick shot 2 to kill him fast. When your pistol art available it makes it even faster since you can spam quick shot.

MISSABLE

At the end of the story you will get access to Yuna, Eiji and Seven as allies. You will need to raise their affinities to Rank 4 25% then talk to them in the SBC Glocken. Pick the correct response while on a date and they will have a sleepover. Do this with all 3 characters. If you have purchased the DLC you can use them in the main game without doing the DLC and get the sleepover that way.
