For this achievement as soon as you open the ship gates Kate will go to the Youcol camp.As soon as you enter there just inspect the window there and you will get the achievement .

I looked into the window and got the clip, but not the achievement. Was there something I needed to do earlier in the game to set this up? Does it matter if you choose to shout for help or pretend to be sick when the agent has you in the shack?

As far as I know, you only need to look through the window for this achievement.
