There are 7 instances of the AR cat during the Crew Records. All you have to do is point your cursor at the cat. You will know you've gotten it if the top of the screen tells you it's a housecat.
Cat #1-Operations. At the back of Operations is a Laundry room. The cat is sitting on the ducts above the laundry equipment.
Cat #2-Administration. Head into the room just outside E.V. St. James' office. The cat is sitting in a chair.
Cat #3-Botany. Head through the Food Supply Doors and look left to the Protein Growth room. The cat is sitting above the canisters on the right side.
Cat #4-Medical. Head through the Exam Facilities door. Straight ahead is a door with Imaging above it. The cat is hiding under the exam table in the Imaging room.
Cat #5-Mechanical Engineering. Just to the left of the entrance is the Power Cell Access room. Inside, look up and to the left, above the power cells. The cat is on the middle cell on the right side.
Cat #6-Network Technology. Go up the ramp to the Network Specialist's office. Turn around look up to the right. The cat is sitting on a ledge pretty high up.
Cat #7-Cryogenics. After going through all 6 wings, and collecting the AI, you will be tasked with heading back up to the main hub. You will now have access to the cryogenics rooms. In one of these is E.V. St. James holding the cat in her arms.
The achievement should pop as soon as you observe the 7th cat.

This achievement has glitched on me. I didn't unlock for me when I first finished the game for the first time and found the 7 cats. I went back and found all 7 cats and still nothing. I started a new game and saw all 7 cats again and still no achievement.
