How to unlock the Drum Master achievement in Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master! - Definitive Guide

To earn this achievement you do not need to successfully finish a song - you just need to see the results page of the song being played.

To quickly go through these play "x" times achievements you can turn on the "Special - Perfect" option and choose a song that has a note in / near the beginning (for time save) and miss the first note, which results in the song failed and results screen showing up. I used the song, "Hated by Life" in the Vocaloid Music filter.

*To turn on the option: after selecting a song hit the "start" button to pull up the song options menu. the special option will be at the bottom and your options to choose from will be "Off > Auto > Perfect > Spartan" - make sure to choose Perfect*

The Perfect option will fail the song immediately upon first "Bad" note achieved in the song.

The tracker updates as it should normally and these fail runs will count towards the progress for the amount of plays you need - in this case 500 :)

Might be able to use a turbo controller to idle this - i do not have one to test this out though

This is an alternative quicker method than to just play through 500 songs fully.

Given how grindy the game is, you're likely better off saving this method for later.

Ssj Sean, tear a corner off a piece of paper and fold it over on itself about 3 times and push it down the side of the button then press the button. The friction hold the button in. It's what slot players do in Vegas haha.

This game is play anywhere, if you have a Logitech gaming mouse or something, or autohotkey you could probably do it overnight seeing as on PC you can use WASD Enter for most controls

For anyone working on this - ranked games are your best way to find gold and they still count for progress towards this achievement. After playing ranked games, go back to single player and finish a song. You’ll see the tracker also include the ranked games you played.

Regarding KiRRAYNE's comment: On Xbox I can hardly ever find ranked matches these days, so good luck to whoever tries.

Regarding Ssj Sean's comment: As of November 2023, Microsoft no longer allows unlicensed controllers on Xbox. You'll just get an error if you try. (Which also means no more using actual drums on Xbox since you had to use an adapter with drums made for another system)

I use one of these bad bois for spamming through visual novels and other menial tasks https://www.amazon.com/Arcade-Fight-Stick-Fighting-Controlle...
combine it with an older xbox one controller with a usb cable and you can leave it tap tapping away as long as you're comfortable cooking your xbox. I can't really find a way to work the "macro" function on the stick but a pill bottle full of nickles on the A button and turbo works a treat. I'm running this setup on an XB4 and I'm gonna see where i'm at after I sleep for about 10 hours.
Happy gunting!
